‘Gordita Chronicles’ follows 12-year-old Carlotta “Cucu”. She recently moved to Miami from the Dominican Republic with her family. Cucu finds himself in a new world. Faced with the challenges of being a full-fledged immigrant, the young actor, and her family made their version of the American dream. Along the way, there are annoying antics, important lessons, and an exciting view of the Dominican American experience.
Set in the 1980s, the show showcases a long-lasting beauty that can add family-friendly humor. Many places make up Cucu’s trip to her new country. Now, know about the Gordita Chronicles series filming locations.
Where Was Gordita Chronicles Series Filmed?
The program is mainly in Miami, where Cucu and her family settled shortly after emigrating to the United States. The program was also filmed in Miami, allowing staff to take photographs of some of the landmarks. More film footage in Puerto Rico is likely to be on the scene showing Cucu’s time in the Dominican Republic.
The series was granted a driving order in March 2021, and season 1 appeared to be shot in December of the same year.
Miami
As expected, the Miami film crews played the most, showing old versions of some of the city’s most recognizable locations. The local school building also appears to be used to display Cucu and her sister’s high school.
However, since the game is a one-camera comedy, much of the interior scenes may be recorded in the studio using detailed sets, such as the interior of a middle-class family home.

The producers’ team reportedly spent some time recording in Puerto Rico for Gordita Chronicles season 1. The most likely scenes showing family time in the Dominican Republic are recorded here. At the opening of the show, Cucu’s family traveled from Santo Domingo to Miami.
Puerto Rico can be used as a venue for the vintage Miami scenes of the 1980s. This is especially helpful as, due to the development, there are not many public places left in Miami that seem to have done so in the 1980s.

Interestingly, the show’s creator and great producer, Claudia Forestieri, was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in Miami. Considering that the exhibition is semi-autobiographical, recording sites seem appropriate. Senior producer Zoe Saldaña is also part of Puerto Rican and says the story is getting closer to her. “Gordita Chronicles.”
