The Good Nurse is a drama movie starring Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne as two nurses, one of whom suspects the other of being responsible for a series of patient deaths. The movie is based on the 2013 true crime book of the same name by Charles Graeber about serial killer Charles Cullen. It is directed by Tobias Lindholm and written by Krysty Wilson-Cairns. The movie also stars Nnamdi Asomugha, Kim Dickens, and Noah Emmerich.
The Good Nurse had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2022, and was released in select theaters in the United States on October 19, 2022, before being streamed on October 26 by Netflix.
Amy, a compassionate nurse and single mother struggling with a life-threatening heart condition, is pushed to her physical and emotional limits by hard and demanding night shifts in the ICU. But help comes when Charlie Cullen, a thoughtful and empathetic fellow nurse, joins her unit. During the long nights at the hospital, they form a strong and devoted friendship, and for the first time in years, Amy truly believes in the future for herself and her young daughters.
But after a series of mysterious patient deaths sparks an investigation that points to Charlie as the prime suspect, Amy is forced to risk her life and the safety of her children to uncover the truth. So it’s only natural that you want to know where “The Good Nurse” was shot.
Where Was The Good Nurse Series Filmed?
“The Good Nurse” was filmed in Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, mainly in Fairfield County. The film’s principal photography reportedly began in April 2021 and ended in June of that year.
Although most of the story takes place in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, the shooting took place primarily in Connecticut.
Connecticut
Fairfield County, Connecticut’s most populous county, featured numerous key sequences for “The Good Nurse”. Notably, Stamford, the state’s second most populous city, served as one of the film’s primary production locations. During filming, the cast and crew were spotted filming several scenes in and around Morgan Street and Beal Street.

In May 2021, the film crew traveled to Norwalk, a city in southern Fairfield County, for filming. They set up camp at Van Dyk Recycling Solutions at 360 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to record several key scenes for the film.
The production team also used the Mechanic Street Lot at 2-36 Mechanic Street in Darien, near Wall Street, and the Richard C. Briggs High School at 350 Main Avenue to shoot certain segments. Unfortunately, both of these sites are now permanently closed to the public.

New Jersey
Several scenes for “The Good Nurse” were ostensibly filmed on location in New Jersey, a state in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast region. Over the years, the state has served as a pivotal filming location for many productions; some notable ones include The Greatest Beer Run Ever and A Beautiful Mind.
Pennsylvania
Other parts of “The Good Nurse” were reportedly filmed in Pennsylvania, the fifth most populous state in the country.
