Robbing Mussolini or Rapiniamo il Duce is an Italian language movie about wartime arms thief/dealer Isolo who, with the help of an incompetent team, hatches a plan to rob Italian fascist ruler Benito Mussolini’s large treasure. The film has a running time of one hour and thirty minutes and was written and directed by Renato De Maria.
The cast of the movie includes Tommaso Ragno as Marcello, Matilde De Angelis as Yvonne, Marcello Macchia as Giovanni Fabbri, Alberto Astorri as Molotov, Filippo Timi as Borsalino, Coco Rebecca Edogamhe as Hessa, and Isabella Ferrari as Nora Cavalieri. The movie opens with an illegal arms trade initiated by Isola, the son of a former resistance martyr who was raised to believe that thieves are better than heroes because they often survive the game. He exchanges automatic weapons along with heavy explosives with several members of the resistance movement and is soon interrupted by a fascist raid.
Isola has a team of family members, including like-minded sharpshooter Marcello and a professional code breaker played by Luigi Fedele. Where Was Robbing Mussolini Movie Filmed?
Robbing Mussolini was shot entirely in Italy, specifically in Lazio and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Principal photography for the lead role of Pietro Castellitto reportedly began in March 2021 and ended in early June of that year.
Since the story takes place in Italy, it makes sense why the filmmakers decided to shoot the Robbing Mussolini film entirely on location.

Many key sequences for “Robbing Mussolini” were filmed in Lazio, Italy’s second most populous region. The cast and crew have reportedly set up camp in Rome-Lazio and the Italian capital. Many of the exterior shots were shot around the metropolis, including Via Genova and the areas around Monte Soratte.
Rome is located in central Italy on the Tiber River and has hosted the production of many movies and TV shows over the years.

After wrapping the necessary parts in Lazio, the film crew of “Robing Mussolini” moved to Friuli-Venezia Giulia, one of the five autonomous regions with special status, for filming. Trieste, the capital and largest city of the region served as one of the primary production locations for the heist film.
The Palazzo Carciotti in Riva Tre Novembre, 13, was transformed into the Teatro Cabiria for the film. In addition, the cast and crew used several other locations in the city, including Ponterosso and Porto Vecchio.

Other parts of the comedy film were filmed in the municipalities of Ruda in Udine and Tarvisio in the northeastern part of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The areas around Valcanale and the Laghi di Fusine or Fusine Lakes, both in Tarvisio, were mainly used for the production of the Netflix film.
