Netflix’s “High Water” or “Wielka Woda” is a true-life Polish drama series set in the midst of a flood in 1997. The story revolves around a catastrophic flood that hits a Polish city and the deadly impact it has on the lives of citizens and residents of surrounding municipalities and areas.
With a devastating flood wave looming in and around the city, scientists and the local government must make the best of the situation and make life-and-death decisions for the greater good.
The Polish series dramatizes the real events of the flood with stellar performances by a talented cast of Tomasz Schuchardt, Ireneusz Czop, Agnieszka Żulewska, and Damian Krajczyk. Additionally, the realistic flood scenes in the background of the city throughout the show are likely to raise questions about the actual filming locations of the High Water Netflix series.
