Netflix ‘Togo’ Written and directed by Israel Adrián Caetano, is a Uruguayan crime drama that revolves around the title character who works at a car repair shop. Togo was a former professional boxer whose career was short-lived due to a fatal accident that left him unable to continue boxing.
So now he takes care of the cars parked in his neighborhood. However, things get complicated in his life when drug smugglers try to get him and his associates to sell drugs on his land.
By denying any cooperation with them and not allowing the sale of drugs, Togo must face traffickers who will stop at nothing to get what they want. The gripping narrative is made all the more engaging by the stellar performances of the talented cast of Diego Alonso, Catalina Arrillaga, and Néstor Prieto.

Where Was Togo Movie Filmed?
The movie Togo was shot entirely in Uruguay, specifically in Montevideo. The shooting of the thriller’s lead film is said to have started around mid-October 2021 and wrapped up in about a month, in November of that year.

Uruguay
All pivotal sequences for “Togo” were shot in and around Montevideo, Uruguay’s capital and largest city. Most of the exteriors were reportedly filmed in the Palermo district of the capital. For filming purposes, the cast and crew also set up camp at Cerro de Montevideo, a hill located right next to the city of Montevideo and the coast of Montevideo Bay.

Additionally, during filming, the crew was spotted filming several important scenes in Montevideo’s historic Ciudad Vieja neighborhood. The production team also apparently used the surroundings of Playa de Los Pocitos, a beach in Montevideo, to shoot some sequences for the film.
Montevideo is located on the northern shore of the Río de la Plata and is home to several tourist attractions, including the Montevideo World Trade Center, the Telecommunications Tower, Parque Batlle, Parque Prado, Fortaleza del Cerro, and the Punta Brava Lighthouse, to name a few.
