“Confess, Fletch” based on the “Fletch” novels by Gregory McDonald, is a crime comedy directed by Greg Mottola that serves as a reboot of Michael Ritchie’s 1985 film “Fletch”. The narrative follows the title character as he is drawn into the search for a stolen collection of art. However, things get complicated for him when he becomes the prime suspect in a murder. To prove his innocence to the authorities, Fletch must find the real killer from a long list of suspects that includes an art dealer, a playboy, a neighbor, and his Italian girlfriend.

Where Was Confess, Fletch Movie Filmed?
“Confess, Fletch” was filmed in Massachusetts and Italy, primarily in Worcester, Boston, Essex County, Cohasset, and Rome. Principal photography, starring Jon Hamm, began in late June 2021 and wrapped in August of that year.

Massachusetts
Several key scenes for “Confess, Fletch” were filmed in Boston, the capital and most populous city of Massachusetts. The production team set up camp in the South End neighborhood, South Station at 700 Atlantic Avenue, West Newton Street, and Columbus Avenue to film several sequences for the film.

The film crew of “Confess, Fletch” filmed many important parts on location in Worcester, the city and county seat of Worcester County, Massachusetts. Cicero’s Cafe at 17 Suffolk Street served as a newspaper hangout/bar, while the Telegram & Gazette editorial office in the Mercantile Center on Front Street was transformed into a Boston newsroom for the film.
Additionally, the Worcester Police Department in Lincoln Square 9-11 represented a fictional version of Boston Police Headquarters. The cast and crew also took advantage of one of the local biker bars in town as they set up their base camp on Union Street.

Many key sequences for ‘Confess, Fletch’ were also filmed in Cohasset, a town in Massachusetts’ Norfolk County. The production team transformed The Oaks at 49 Margin Street into the fictional Mayflower Yacht Club for the comedy film. Most of the filming on the property took place on his private dock.
Several scenes were also shot in and around Cohasset Harbor, which is close to The Oaks. In addition, the Cohasset Harbor Inn at 124 Elm Street and St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church at 2 Summer Street also seemingly served as several prominent manufacturing sites.

The crew also went to Essex County, a county in the northeastern part of Massachusetts, to shoot other parts of the movie “Confess, Fletch”. In particular, they made extensive use of Gloucester city locations to record several important scenes for the film.
They set up base camp at O’Maley Innovation Middle School at 32 Cherry Street and filmed at Lane’s Cove, Lanesville Community Center at 8 Vulcan Street, Plum Cove School at 15 Hickory Street, Andrews Street, and Duley Street. Ipswich, a coastal town in Essex County, also served as an important filming location.
Italy
To complete the production process, members of the cast and crew traveled all the way to Rome, the capital of Italy, to shoot several final sequences for “Confess, Fletchi.”
