“This Is The End” is a 2013 apocalyptic comedy film written and directed by Rogen and Goldberg themselves. The story revolves around a house party that actor James Franco throws for a bunch of his famous friends, including Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Danny McBride, Jay Baruchel, and Craig Robinson. Their wild celebrations are soon cut short when a deadly apocalypse erupts out of nowhere, killing many of the guests and trapping the others in the house.
The remaining celebrities are stuck in Franco’s house as they not only have to deal with the apocalypse but also each other. The serious themes of apocalypse and death are countered with hilarious shots, while the funny bone tickles the audience in such a catastrophic situation.
The storytelling is made all the more fun by featuring some of Hollywood’s biggest names, including Rihanna, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Emma Watson, and Paul Rudd. Where Was This Is the End Movie Filmed?
‘This Is The End was shot in Louisiana and California, specifically in New Orleans and Los Angeles. Principal photography on the apocalypse film reportedly began in late April 2012 under the working title “The Apocalypse” and later “The End of the World”.
Production was completed in approximately 50 days, in early July of that year. Although the story takes place in Los Angeles, most of the filming took place in New Orleans due to the financial incentives the filmmakers received from the city.

Louisiana
Most of the key sequences for ‘This Is The End took place in and around New Orleans, a consolidated urban parish in the southeastern region of Louisiana.
A large soundstage warehouse in the New Orleans suburb of Harahan was converted into a studio for filming many of the film’s scenes.

The filmmakers built a full-size house to represent James Franco’s house in the middle of the warehouse where most of the film was shot. Because it was much cheaper to reconstruct Los Angeles’ Melrose in a New Orleans parking lot than to film on the actual Melrose, the production team decided to rebuild a section of Melrose Avenue in the Crescent City itself.
California
Other parts for ‘This Is The End were also apparently shot on location in Los Angeles, a large city in Southern California. It is possible that the cast and crew used the LA locations to shoot several exterior scenes for the film.
