Where Was Blair Witch Movie Filmed?
‘Blair Witch’ was recorded in British Columbia and California, mainly in British Columbia, Sea-to-Sky Corridor, and Los Angeles. The main filming took place in the spring of 2015, and to keep it a secret, the filming of the film was done under the active title ‘The Woods.’ Burkittsville, where the story of the film takes place, is a real community in Frederic County of Maryland, as well as in the Black Hills. the forest begins at the edge of the village.
However, the production unit did not find it possible to move there and instead ended up recording more sequences in British Columbia. Robby Baumgartner (camera and electrical department for ‘There Will Be Blood’ and ‘Babel’) came on board to handle cinematography, while Tom Hammock, production designer for ‘Godzilla Vs. Kong ‘and‘ Guest ’also joined the group. Now let’s take you to some places where the movie is fitted with a lens.
British Columbia
Most of the ‘Blair Witch’ was recorded in and around Vancouver, the largest city in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia. Aside from being a center of cultural integration and architectural wonders, the city is a center of filmmaking worldwide. The workers built a set in the forest, but they were hidden so as not to be seen by passersby.

The infamous Blair Witch House was completely rebuilt on the studio sound stage, and many spectacular scenes were taken there. While the Vancouver preparations were different in the background as the previous two films were shot in Maryland, it was acceptable for a number of reasons. Production is likely to benefit the provincial tax credit, and the dense, foggy forest has paved the way for a cool, screen effect.

Important parts were also recorded in the Sea-to-Sky Corridor, a beautiful region of the province from the coast of Horseshoe Bay to the Pemberton Valley. The passage got its name from the windy sea to Sky Highway (Highway 99), which crosses two historic routes – the Gold Rush Heritage Trail and the Pemberton Trail.
California
The recording is taking place in Los Angeles, a world-famous city on the west coast of California. The city, known for its Hispanic roots, is also a popular movie destination. Because of its association with cinema history, directors and lovers of cinemas around the world flock to Los Angeles every year.
Many movies such as ‘Top Gun: Maverick,’ ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ and ‘The Unbearable Weight of Strong Talent’ were produced in the City of Angels.
