‘Heirs to the Land’ is a Spanish drama tv series based on the anonymous novel Ildefonso Falcones. In a series of ‘Cathedral of the Sea,’ the exhibition is set in 14th-century Barcelona and revolves around a 12-year-old boy named Hugo Llor who aims to be a shipbuilder. Although his life was not easy as his mother was forced to leave him, he was under the protection and guidance of a respected old man named Arnau Estanyol.
In order to do justice to the old style of the play, the producers of the show had to choose something spectacular and theatrical as a recording studio. The old background, along with a low black tone and brutal narrative, does an excellent job of keeping viewers at the edges of their seats and fueling their curiosity about places from the Heirs to the Land series.
Where Was Heirs to the Land Series Filmed?
‘Heirs to the Land’ is recorded in the Catalonia region of Spain, especially in Barcelona, where the narrative is set. Another important sequel is also shot in a few other provinces in Spain – Girona, and Tarragona. The main photography of the first season of the historical exhibition started in November 2020 and ended in March 2021.
Since the filming of the Season 1 film took place during the Covid-19 violence, certain safety measures were taken by the actors and crew as they inspected themselves several times a week.

Most of the ‘Heirs to the Land’ shootings took place in Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia. Known for its art, architecture, and historical landmarks, it is fitting that a period-long drama series such as ‘Heir of the World’ used all those elements in its production to make the show seem more realistic.

The production team travels through the city of Catalonia to record a few outstanding sequences against its diverse and cultural landscapes. Over the years, Barcelona has been seen as the backbone of many recording projects, including ‘Bourne Identity,’ ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona,’ and ‘Killing Eve.’

For recording purposes, the cast and crew of ‘Heirs to the Land’ also traveled to the northeastern region of Catalonia of Spain, namely, Girona. After filming a few important scenes at Castle of Hostalric, Avenue Fortaleza in 17450 Hostalric, Girona, a team of organizers set up camp at various sites in the province to record several sequences for the first season of the history series.

Other areas selected by the production team include the Arab Baths (Banys Àrabs) located in the Carrer del Rei Ferran el Catòlic, the Cathedral of Girona in the Plaza de la Catedral, and the Plaça de la Independencia in 17001 Girona. To keep the production process short and smooth, a few parking and traffic restrictions were imposed on nearby areas for a few days.

The port city of Tarragona in the infamous province of Catalonia, in northeastern Spain, is also home to one of the film’s ‘Heirs to the Land.’ Actors and crew are reportedly seen filming various scenes in various parts of the city, in particular. at Tamarit Beach (Platja de Tamarit), located at 43008 Tarragona. As a historic city, Tarragona is home to many of the world’s ancient and cultural landmarks, making it an ideal setting for a series of contemporary drama series such as Yon González-starrer.
