“Crooks.” When a coin puts the world’s most wanted rivals and gangsters against each other for the quest of the coin alongside forcing a retired safecracker to commit his last heist. “Crooks” is a German- drama thriller based on the life of two people who are allegedly forced to smuggle a priceless gold coin making them run across international borders with underworld gangs on their tails.
Their ultimate plans went into downfall when a shootout took place off the rails and the crooks now must fight together to survive the deadliest gangs from Berlin, Vienna, and Marseille. Under the creative direction of Marvin Kren and remarkable act and ultimate stacast prodigy, Frederick Lau and Kida Khodr Ramadan, the thriller has nail-biting visuals throughout the whole movie with stunning graphics and stunts boosting the power of the action in it.
Where Was Crooks Series Filmed?
The grand Tv series with an ultimate production team utilized all the marvelous spots in the three different countries. From the running streets of Berlin to the acoustic trance and landscapes of Vienna, the location of the filming sites is picturesque and wonderful.
BERLIN (GERMANY)
Crooks is shot across sites in Berlin, Germany; Vienna, Austria; Marseille, France; and a few locations in Italy. Principal photography began in April 2022 under the working title ‘Criminal,’ and was completed for the first season by August 2022.
The capital city of Germany played a major portion in acquiring the filming sites. From local streets to the production studios, all the sites were remarkable. The series also had a lot of stunt scenes that required essential space and were lensed in the production studios of Berlin only.
The series’s part where Charly and its life is being lensed is filmed in Berlin. The native city’s colorful neighborhoods and neon-lit clubs contrast with one another, symbolizing the tension between Charly’s tranquil present and troubled past.
VIENNA (AUSTRIA)
The serene beauty of Vienna was also captured in the Crooks series. The neighborhood local markets can be visualized in the movie alongside the tall landscapes that have marked their presence in a few scenes. Views of Vienna are captured as Joseph leaves the city in the hopes of making things right for his family.

Vienna especially plays a crucial role in establishing the relation between Eastern and Western Europe portraying a surreal backdrop when the two leads are transported to another country with the gold coin.
MARSEILLE (FRANCE)
The beauty of the Mediterranean coast can also be seen in the drama thriller due to the city’s picturesque locations and stunning visuals. The major part of the series is filmed here in the vast coastal city of Southern France.

The Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde is a famous landmark that towers over the city with its gilded figure of the Virgin Mary which has marked their presence in a few cinematic shots.
ITALY (FRANCE)
A few shots were also lensed in the bordering city of Italy. The exact locations are uncertain but viewers can still spot some scenic locations of the beautiful city.
