“Parasyte: The Grey.” The K-pop or Hallyu wave seems to have taken over all over the world after the famous Squid Game and the award-winning movie- Parasite. But Koreans have never failed to amaze the world whether it is catchy songs or horror and sci-fi movies with jaw-dropping visuals.

Accordingly Netflix’s newly launched movie, “Parasyte: the Grey” is an illustrious sci-fi horror movie based on Hitoshi Iwaaki’s Japanese manga series ‘Parasyte,’ and is co-written and directed by acclaimed South Korean filmmaker Yeon Sang-ho. The movie so far has been praised for an amazing concept and storyline but the graphics and design as well as the backdrops of the movie come first.
The storyline is based on a world where some alien species also known as parasites have come over to possess victory over humankind. The parasites invade the body of their human host and transform it into a hideous beast that feeds on other people.
Their capacity to pass for regular individuals while cooperating as sentient beings and learning from the brains they control is their greatest asset. Parasyte: The Grey series portrays a female lead named, Jeong Su-in who somehow falls into the traps of death her life seemingly lies on a tiny thread of life and death but she is miraculously saved by the same alien parasite who somehow gives her a new life but failed to take control over her brain.
Su-in knows that an alien species resides in her mind and the two share the same body while also being able to communicate with each other. After the unknown parasites brutally take over human hosts and acquire power by honing their minds, people have to rise up to fight them.

And when the alien species discover humankind as a threat. Jeong Su-in becomes essential in reversing the situation as a competent group known as the Grey leads an operation against the alien menace that is disguising itself.
Where Was Parasyte: The Grey Series Filmed?
SEOUL (SOUTH KOREA)
The metropolitan city which is a dream place for all the kpop/K-drama fans was the primary location for the filming of the movie. The plot line is also set in the urban locale of the city therefore it was essential to show the same backdrops to set Parasyte: The Grey series.
Principal photography for the show began in August 2022 and was wrapped up for the first season by the end of the same year. In the series, we can identify many locations such as the stadium where the invasion of the species is being shot.
The stadium seen here is the Olympic Stadium of Seoul, located at the heart of the city, at 25 Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu. Several other landmarks and tall skyscrapers representing the bustling metropolitan can also be seen in various scenes of the movie.

Climax Studios and Wow Point together worked as production teams for the working of the movie. Parasyte: The Grey series was a hit and has also been praised by other filmmakers. The cast also did commendable work including renowned actors Jeon So-nee, Koo Kyo-Hwan, Lee Jung-hun in main leads and Kwon Hae-hyo, Yoon Hyun-gil, Lee Hyun-kyun, Moon Ju-yeon in supporting roles.
Netflix is about to release Korean sci-fi horror drama Parasyte: The Grey. It will be broadcast on April 5 at 03:00. Netflix’s series is inspired by Jin Iwaki’s Japanese manga “Parasite.” According to USA Today, the comic has sold 25 million copies in more than 30 countries.
