Netflix’s “Represent” or “En Place”, created by Jean-Pascal Zadi and François Uzan, is a French comedy series that follows the leader of a suburban black youth center who is convinced to run for president in the upcoming elections.
He gets all the help he needs from his community as he mounts a tough challenge to the opposition during the presidential election. Despite the successful campaign and the support of many people, there is a lingering doubt – whether France is really ready to accept a black president or not.
The comedic elements depicted in the show are elevated to new heights thanks to the hilarious performances of the talented cast of Jean-Pascal Zadi, Éric Judor, Benoît Poelvoorde, and Marina Foïs. Plus, the use of different locations throughout the show is enough to make you wonder where ‘Represent’ is actually filmed.
Where Was Represent Series Filmed?
The film Represent is shot exclusively in France, mainly in the Île-de-France region. Principal photography for the comedy show’s debut season is said to have taken place in the spring of 2022. Since the story takes place in France, the crew decided to film the show on location to give viewers an immersive viewing experience.
Located in Western Europe, the French Republic has maintained its status as a global center of art, philosophy, and science for centuries.

Almost all of the pivotal sequences for “Represent” take place in Île-de-France, France’s most populous region. The production team is reportedly using Paris, the nation’s capital and most populous city, as the primary filming location for the show. In the background of many scenes, you can see the iconic Eiffel Tower along with several streets and other landmarks of the city.

In addition, cast and crew members can be spotted filming several key scenes in and around Jouy-en-Josas during filming. The village is located in the department of Yvelines, just a few kilometers from the center of Paris.
Île-de-France is located in the north-central part of France and is centered around Paris, which is why it is also known as the Paris Region (Région Parisienne in French). The region consists of eight administrative departments, Essonne, namely Paris, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-et-Marne, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-d’Oise, Val-de-Marne, and Yvelines.
