Netflix’s Italian drama tv series The Lying Life of Adults, based on the 2019 novel “La Vita Bugiarda Degli Adulti” by Elena Ferrante, focuses on Giovanna as she puts aside her childhood to embrace adolescence in the 1990s. She shares her free-spirited nature with her aunt Vittoria, so she seeks her help to understand herself more accurately and be more confident.

“The Lying Life of Adults” was filmed completely in Italy, mainly in Campania. Principal photography for the initial iteration of the drama series began in October 2021 and ended in March 2022.

While filming the debut season, the cast and crew were spotted filming several key scenes around Cubo D’oro in 80125 Naples. In addition, some important parts of the drama series are recorded in and around Casa del Portuale in Interno Porto, 80133 Naples. The team also uses the locations of Castel Volturno, a municipality in the province of Caserta in Campania, to film various sequences for the show.
