Cabinet of Curiosities, or Guillermo del Toro’s, is a horror anthology tv series created by Guillermo del Toro for Netflix. The series features eight unique horror stories that challenge the classic horror genre. Where Was Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities Series Filmed?
Cabinet of Curiosities is being filmed in Ontario, specifically in Hamilton and Toronto. According to reports, principal photography for the first iteration of the horror franchise began in late June 2021 and will conclude in February 2022. Located in central Canada, Ontario is the most populous province in the country and the second-largest province in terms of total land area.
Although there are no mountainous terrains in the province, Ontario consists of large areas of highlands, mainly within the Canadian Shield. In addition, the province is known to have a vast and diverse landscape, making it a suitable filming location for all kinds of filming projects.

Around November 2021, the production team was spotted at Strabane United Church at 1565 Brock Road in Strabane, filming several scenes for the debut season. A forgery piece was also set up right in front of the church.

Many key sequences for “Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities” take place in and around Toronto, Ontario’s capital and Canada’s most populous city. To produce the series, the filming unit mainly uses the facilities of two film studios – Cinespace Film Studios and Pinewood Toronto Studios.

Cinespace Film Studios is located at 777 Kipling Ave 300 in Toronto’s Etobicoke administrative district and is a film studio that consists of several studios within each other, including Kipling Avenue Studios. The Netflix show’s production team reportedly uses four sound stages, office space, and support space totaling approximately 164,000 square feet.

Pinewood Toronto Studios, on the other hand, is located at 225 Commissioners Street and consists of eleven stages, millwork, offices, changing rooms, changing rooms, and multi-purpose rooms. In particular, the cast and crew of “Cabinet of Curiosities” utilize multiple sound stages and adjacent office space totaling approximately 84,580 square feet.
In addition, some scenes are recorded in and around the Spadina Museum at 285 Spadina Road and Scarborough.
