‘The Rehearsal’ is a comedy TV series that highlights the lengths to which a person will go to always stay ahead and limit the uncertainty that life brings. Nathan Fielder sets out on a mission to get people ready and rehearsing for their lives with the help of a construction crew, a group of actors, and an abundance of resources.
The comedian carefully creates realistic simulations of his design with an eye for detail, helping people prepare for their biggest moments in life by acting out a scene in simulation with multiple takes, as opposed to real life.
The unique and original storytelling mixed with documentary storytelling is bound to keep viewers invested in every episode of the HBO original series.
In addition, the use of several interesting locations, including soundstages for designing simulations, makes you think about the actual shooting locations used for The Rehearsal comedy series.
Where Was The Rehearsal Series Filmed?
“The Rehearsal” is filmed entirely in the state of Oregon. Although the narrative of Nathan Fielder’s lead is set in New York, the cast and crew manage to recreate the setting of the Big Apple in Oregon.
This is relatively easy since many parts of the series involve characters using indoor spaces to practice and prepare for their upcoming situations. Now allow us to give you a detailed description of the specific locations that appear in the Rehearsal comedy show!
Oregon
All of the pivotal sequences of ‘The Rehearsal’ take place in Oregon, a state in the Pacific Northwest region of the western United States. For the series’ inaugural iteration, the production unit camped in Eagle Creek, an unincorporated community in Clackamas County.
In addition, the warehouse and houses in rural Oregon were used to film important scenes in Season 1. In a July 2022 interview with Vulture, creator, and star of the HBO original — Nathan Fielder — revealed that filming the pilot episode itself was expensive.

The comedian said: “One of the crew told me that the cost of replicating this bar was probably more than the cost of building a real bar.”
But that didn’t stop Fielder from still pursuing the idea and finishing taping such expensive episodes for the series, mostly because Oregon is used to double for New York City. Oregon is known as one of the most geographically diverse states in the country, and for good reason.
The state is home to several volcanoes, dense forests, bodies of water, high deserts, and semi-arid scrub. Thanks to its diverse landscape, Oregon’s economy comes mainly from agriculture, fishing, and hydropower.
Tourism also plays a significant role in the state’s economy. Some of the popular sights and attractions among tourists are Crater Lake National Park, Deschutes River, Painted Hills, and Oregon Caverns to name a few.

In addition, several filmmakers regularly visit Oregon to produce various types of film projects. Over the years, the state has appeared in many films and TV shows such as “Twilight”, “Leave No Trace”, “Metal Lords” and “Leverage”.
