Mr. Bean’s Holiday is based on the popular British sitcom ‘Mr. Bean. ’The comedy film follows the titular character’s journey to Cannes which he wins by raffle. Naturally, as soon as he set foot on French soil, things changed.
From trying different French foods to traveling by train, all the actions of Mr. Beans turn into seemingly insurmountable chaos. Because of the uncontrollable circumstances, he finds a friend in a young boy named Stepan. Will they be able to reach Cannes on time or will they miss his big trip? That’s what the film explores in depth.
Thanks to the excellent portrayal of the lead character by Rowan Atkinson, the film attracts viewers in large numbers. Another feature that works for a movie is its excellent cinematic imagery. Where Was Mr. Bean’s Holiday Movie Filmed?
‘Mr. Bean’s holiday was recorded mainly in many parts of France such as Vaucluse, Paris, Alpes-Maritimes, and a few others.
The film also features major scenes from England and Vancouver, especially London and Vancouver. The main photography began on May 15, 2006.
Vaucluse
Located in the southeast of France, Vaucluse is the French portal, where a few ‘Mr. Bean’s Holiday lens. Oppède le Vieux, based in Luberon, was used to capture military scenes set up in the 1940s. Place De La Croix, a public parking lot in the area, and the D176 road were some of the most prominent shooting areas. Parking is located on the Route des Petitions Minguets, where an ambulance passes by Mr. Bean filming.

Throughout the film, Mr. Bean passes a train ride. A few channels can be seen behind a few scenes. Gare de Cavaillon, a transit station in Cavaillon, was used as a background under a pseudonym to create scenes placed on mediator stations.
The place where Mr. Bean landing at the last train station was framed at Gare TGV d’Avignon or Estación de Aviñón TGV in Avignon. Both indoor and outdoor scenes were lensed in the northern part of the railway station.
A historic scene where Mr. Bean, who danced to the opera song of Giacomo Puccini and Giovacchino Forzano, titled ‘O Mio Babbino Caro,’ to raise money at Saint Caveu, was actually shot at 106 Passage Vidau and Place du Clos in Cavaillon.
Scenes outside the chicken coop were taken from a place called Sault. In addition, a series of bicycle and truck chases were framed on Sault on the D245, the department’s route through the municipality.
Paris
Paris, the capital of France, was used to photograph ‘Mr. Bean’s Holiday. ’The Arc de Triomphe in Place Charles de Gaulle in Paris, one of the city’s most famous monuments, was used to make lens scenes for star actor Rowan Atkinson.
Four miles from the famous arch is another popular monument called La Grande Arche de la Défense, which is part of the view from the Louvre to the Arc de Triomphe. Located in the Puteaux area, the monument is where the Paris taxi takes Mr.

Gare du Nord, the railway station at 112 Rue de Maubeuge, and the Gare de Lyon in Place Louis-Armand have used a few comedy film scenes. The place where Mr. Bean tried French food for the first time was set up and fitted with a lens at a restaurant called Le Train Bleu, Place Louis-Armand. Viewers get a glimpse of a few notable places in downtown Paris, such as the Eiffel Tower.
Alpes-Maritimes
Alpes-Maritimes is a department in France that has served as one of the most prominent places to record ‘Mr. Bean’s Holiday. The Boulevard de la Croisette, a road along the Mediterranean Sea, was used to record a police motorcycle escort in Cannes.

A series with a police checkpoint was posted on Avenue Alexandra. The Palais des Festivals et des Congrès 1 Boulevard de la Croisette also comes from star Rowan Atkinson. Plage Croisette Publique, located on the beach at Rue Mace in Cannes, was used to view the locker room as actors and the crowd sang a Charles Trenet song titled ‘La Mer.’
Other recording areas within the Alpes-Maritimes include Avenue Olivula & Chemin de Saint Michel in Villefranche-sur-Mer. It acts as a background when the characters first see the sea. The location where Sabine sees a news report about Stepan’s kidnapping allegations was filmed at CK Services Distribution, 66 Route Nationale 85, Saint-Vallier-de-They.

Many scenes’ to Mr. Bean’s Holiday ’are lensed in many places throughout France. Boulevard Alexandre Delebre in the historic city of Marseille was used to make the film Sea edge drive. Le Viaduc de Millau, a multidisciplinary bridge across the Tarn River at Aveyron, was also used as the backdrop for comedy films.
The scene where Mr. Bean and Stepan meet there again and celebrate being taken to an Autogrill restaurant on Autoroute 6 in the Nemours area.
Road D927, southwest of the town of Cormainville, was the scene of the shooting. Bean rides and locks himself in a shed. Pont du Gard, Vers-Pont-du-Gard, Gard, near Remoulins, was used to capture the driving sequence.
London
Considering that Mr. Bean lives in London, ‘Mr. Bean ‘Holiday’ naturally shot a few scenes in London, England. During the first scenes, viewers received a glimpse of The Church of the Holy Trinity with St Barnabas, located on Hartland Road, Camden Town. Gainsborough Studios, a film studio in Islington Borough, was used to make film films, especially indoor scenes.

The ‘playing time’ scenes and scenes showing the filming of fictional films were all shown inside London. The Royal Victoria Dock Bridge in Docklands was also used to produce a Carson Clay film episode, ‘Play Time.’ The TV series ‘Ten Percent’ and the film ‘London Has Fallen’ were filmed in the British capital again.
