The murder mystery isn’t the only aspect that leaves viewers scratching their heads, as the use of interesting locations, including Miles’ luxury mansion, also raises curiosity about the actual filming locations of “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.”
Where Was Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery Movie Filmed?
“Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” was filmed in Greece and Serbia, particularly in Spetses, Argolis, Mykonos, and Belgrade. According to reports, filming for the Daniel Craig starrer began at the end of June 2021 and ended in September of that year.
Interestingly, the story is set in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, with various characters seen donning masks, holding Zoom meetings, and even Benoit complaining about not being able to find work. This gives the narrative a sense of realism and makes it all the more authentic.
Greece
The production team of “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” has started filming in Spetses, one of the Saronic Islands in Attica, Greece. The old port of Spetses, or Dapia port, is said to be where everyone first meets Benoi Blanc before everyone boards the yacht towards the island. As for the yacht scenes, the crew used Captain Ali Göksoy’s 46-meter superyacht Aquarius.

Aquarius consists of five saloons with room for ten guests, an onboard jacuzzi, and many private balconies. Several pivotal scenes for the murder mystery film were also shot in and around the Poseidonon Grand Hotel in Dapia. Plus, it’s possible on this Greek island that the scene between Benoit and Monáe discussing their game plan before the weekend was filmed.
Much of “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” was filmed in Argolis, one of the many regional units of Greece. To be specific, Villa 20 at Amanzoe in Agios Panteleimonas, Kranidi doubled for Miles’ luxury mansion where most of the action takes place.

In addition to being a major production location, the hotel also served as a base camp for the film crew, as it housed the actors and their respective families for most of the shoot. Also in the film are the locations of Porto Heli or Porto Cheli, a summer town in the southeastern part of Argolis.
For filming purposes, the production team of “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” also seemingly camped out on Mykonos, a Greek island that is part of the Cyclades. Known for its nightlife and gay-friendly destination, Mykonos attracts many tourists every year. This makes tourism one of the main industries contributing to the island’s economy.
Serbia
Other parts, especially the interiors, of ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’ were filmed in Belgrade, the capital and largest city of Serbia. Most of the interior scenes were shot on a stage, possibly a stage that the production team built specifically for the film.

Although the villa in Argolis was almost perfect for the film, it was missing one thing and that was the glass pavilion at the top. So the production team worked on the glass structure in the UK and reassembled it in Belgrade to incorporate it into the interior scenes.
