Many key sequences for ‘God’s Crooked Lines’ were shot in Barcelona, a province in eastern Spain. First, the production team used the former Mercedes-Benz factory in Barcelona’s Bon Pastor district to record the interior scenes of the psychiatric ward.
They reportedly built a 3,800 square meter set inside the old factory, which took over 8,600 hours to build.
In addition, the film crew set up camp in and around Cecot at Carrer de Sant Pau, 6, in the city of Terrassa and Mas Viver at Diseminado Torrebonica, 1L, in Barcelona Torrebonica. In addition, the municipality of Castellar del Riu and the inland municipality of Berguedà seemingly served as important filming locations for the thriller.
In addition to this film, Netflix Barcelona has hosted the production of many projects over the years. Some of them are ‘The Bourne Identity’, ‘The Machinist’, ‘The Invisible Guest’ and ‘Killing Eve’.

For filming purposes, the cast and crew of ‘God’s Crooked Lines’ traveled to Tarragona, a province adjacent to Barcelona in the southern part of Catalonia. Abandoned and old tobacco factory on Pg. de la Independència, 3, in the city of Tarragona, doubled as the exterior of the psychiatric hospital in the film.
Thanks to all the renovation and gardening done by crew members on the grounds, the old factory has been transformed into a 1970s psychiatric facility.
