Netflix’s Lou directed by Anna Foerster is an action thriller that revolves around the title character, a loner who thinks she’s put her dangerous past behind her for good. She is soon proven wrong when her peaceful life is interrupted when her neighbor’s daughter Vee is kidnapped during a storm and neighbor Hannah asks her for help. The two women join forces to find and rescue Vee from the dangerous clutches of a kidnapper.
Lou and Hannah’s rescue mission test their limits as various shocking secrets from their pasts are revealed along the way. The action-packed sequences and the overall theme of rescuing a kidnapped daughter are reminiscent of the ‘Taken’ franchise, the only difference being the female protagonists played by Allison Janney and Jurnee Smollett.
Additionally, the stormy backdrop and the use of some shady and scary locations throughout the film add to the overall atmosphere and make one wonder where “Lou” was filmed.
Where Was Lou Movie Filmed?
“Lou” was filmed entirely in British Columbia, primarily in Metro Vancouver and Ucluelet. The makers initially planned to shoot the film between May and June 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to change plans and delay production.
Then finally, principal photography on the action thriller reportedly began in mid-June 2021 and ended in August of that year. Now let’s not waste time and dive right into the action and go through all the specific locations that appear in the Netflix thriller!
