“Disobedience” is a 2017 romantic drama based on Naomi Alderman’s 2006 novel of the same name. “Disobedience” was recorded in Greater London, the administrative area comprising the City of London and 32 surrounding boroughs. The production team spent considerable time in the village of Golders Green in the Borough of Barnet to film important scenes with Ronit and Esti, specifically on Golders Green Road and Hoop Lane.
Another important filming location was the village of Hendon in the same district. It is home to Hendon Central Station, which appears in the scene showing Estia’s journey home after Ronit leaves for the airport.

Many of the scenes set outside Dovid’s home were framed at 49 Heber Road in Cricklewood, while a private residence in Hampstead Garden Suburb was also used as a location for filming starring Rachel Weisz.
The interior and exterior of Lauderdale Road Synagogue at 2 Ashworth Road in Maida Vale were used to capture synagogue scenes for the romantic drama. For scenes depicting Ronita’s visit to her father’s grave, the filmmakers camped at Willesden Jewish Cemetery at 26 Beaconsfield Road, Willesden.

Additionally, Beaconsfield Road, on which the cemetery lies, can be seen in the scene as Ronit walks toward his father’s final resting place. Newman Street in Fitzrovia appears in the background during a conversation between Ronit and Esti, and the nearby Newman’s Arcade was where the iconic kissing scene between the two women was filmed.
Additionally, Rinkoff Deli, or Rinkoff Bakery, at 79 Vallance Road, was used to film two different scenes, both of which show Ronit getting some sweets.

London Stansted Airport on Bassingbourn Road in Stansted Mountfitchet was used to film scenes showing Ronit in transit. Finally, Heronsgate in Edgware, a small town in north Greater London, was used to film a scene where Ronit and Esti discuss the impact of their relationship on their lives.
