The Age of Adaline is a 2015 American romantic fantasy movie directed by Lee Toland Krieger and written by J. Mills Goodloe and Salvador Paskowitz. The movie stars Michael Huisman, Blake Lively, Amanda Crew, Kathy Baker, Harrison Ford, and Ellen Burstyn in supporting roles. Narrated by Hugh Ross, the story follows Adaline Bowman, a young woman who has stopped aging after being brought back to life after an accident at the age of 29.
She finds a charming lover in Ellis, but things take an unexpected turn when he invites her to his place to meet his parents. Torn between her secret and her love for Ellis, Adaline must make a life-changing decision. Where Was The Age of Adaline Movie Filmed?
“The Age of Adaline” was filmed in British Columbia and California, mainly in and around Vancouver and San Francisco. Filming began on March 10, 2014, and ended in May of the same year. David Lanzenberg handled the camera; you may recognize him from his work in ‘In the Shadow of the Moon and ‘Paper Towns’.

British Columbia
While most of The Age of Adaline film takes place in the Californian city of San Francisco, the production team found greener pastures in Vancouver, a sprawling coastal metropolis in British Columbia. The bulk of the film was shot at various locations around the city.
In the film, Adaline works in a museum, a job appropriate for her age. Sequences were filmed at the Vancouver Art Gallery, a prominent art museum located at 750 Hornby Street in downtown Vancouver. “The Age of Adaline.”

In a romantic scene, Adaline and Ellis are walking in the park; were on loan at the VanDusen Botanical Garden, a 55-acre botanical garden at 5251 Oak Street. Additionally, the New Year’s Eve party scenes were seemingly filmed at a hotel in the city. In another sequence, Adaline dines with Flemming, which was filmed in Water St. Cafe, a restaurant serving Pacific Northwest cuisine at 300 Water Street in downtown Vancouver.
In another scene, Adaline gets off the ride wearing a blue coat, and the sequence was filmed outside of Pappas Furs. What was once a clothing and repair shop at 449 Hamilton Street in Vancouver has closed permanently. Meanwhile, Adaline evades police pursuit at the University of British Columbia’s Robson Square campus. The scenes were shot in front of the Main Mall at 800 Robson Street in Vancouver.

Adaline talks to the FBI in the following scene, which was filmed in Vancouver’s lively Gastown neighborhood. The production team also acquired The Irving K. Barber Learning Centre, a facility on the Vancouver campus of the University of British Columbia, to film some sequences.
Built around the 1925 core of UBC’s Main Library, the iconic building is located at 1961 East Mall UBC. The building represents the film exterior facade of the medical faculty building.
Adaline is getting married in a church, and the wedding scenes were shot in the church of St. Andrew’s-Wesley at 1022 Nelson Avenue downtown.
The sequence where Adaline leaves her apartment and hails a taxi was filmed right outside the building at 290 Keefer Street. Another scene showing Ellis bringing flowers was filmed at 261 Keefer Street, not far from the location of Adaline’s home.

Adaline takes a taxi from a New Year’s Eve party she finds at 801 West Georgia Street. For the interior shoot, the cast and crew took over Vancouver Film Studios, a central film production facility located at 3500 Cornett Road in Vancouver.
From ‘Hot Tub Time Machine to ‘Superman & Lois’, the production facility has become home to a host of film and television titles. “The Age of Adaline.”
The production team visited several other locations in British Columbia to bring the director’s vision to life. Some sequences were filmed in Coquitlam, a quiet town located on the traditional territory of the Kwikwetlem First Nation.
At the same time, the community falls under the Metro Vancouver Regional District. A significant portion of the film was also recorded in and around Foxglove Cottage at 6741 224th Street in Langley, just 40 minutes from Vancouver.

The city offers a diverse community and outdoor adventure opportunities that will attract casual tourists. In the sequence, Adaline meets her future husband on the coast and was loaned to Barnet Beach, part of Barnet Marine Park in Burnaby. The beach and its surroundings, complete with a century-old logging camp, provide a pleasant environment for walking and picnicking.

“The Age of Adaline.” As the narrative takes place mostly in San Francisco, the cast and crew had to depict parts of the city to create an authentic case. Except for the scene where Adaline gets into a cab, almost all of the exterior scenes of her house were shot at 708 Grant Avenue in San Francisco’s historic Chinatown.
