The production team also arranged era-appropriate props and modified storefronts to recreate the rustic look of the 1950s and 1960s. The film features local spots like Linsi L Cenac Interiors, located at 300 Belanger Street Suite B, and La Boujee Boutique, located at Belanger Street Suite A.

The cast and crew also visited St. Tammany Parish to shoot parts of the movie. The scenes featuring Kya’s swamp home were filmed in parts of Fontainebleau State Park and Fairview-Riverside State Park. The first is located at 62883 LA-1089 in Mandeville, while the second is at 119 Fairview Drive in Madisonville. Some scenes were probably filmed in other parts of Mandeville and Madisonville as well.

Chalmette, the seat of the parish of St. Bernarda, is also between the filming of the film. The courthouse scenes in the second half of the film were shot in St. Bernard Parish Courthouse. The courthouse is located on West St Bernard Highway in Chalmette.

The iconic city of New Orleans serves as a backdrop for some scenes in the film. The cast and crew shot key sequences in and around the city.
