‘Bel-Air’ is a family drama tv series that comes with exciting years on the Peacock TV series. The story is a spectacular reimagining of the iconic sitcom of the 90s – ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ – created by Andy Borowitz and Susan Borowitz.
It all started in 2019 when Morgan Cooper made a concept trailer with the same name. The video greatly expanded and caught Will Smith’s attention, and gradually became a series. The story follows a fictional version of Will Smith (Jabari Banks takes on the role).
An urban boy from Philly, Will encounters a dirty company and gets into trouble. Will’s mother plans a second chance for Will as she lives in her uncle’s mansion in LA. Will the change bring about a new zeal in Will’s life? The story takes place in Philadelphia and Los Angeles, especially in the charming Bel-air and the mansion. Where Was Bel-Air Series Filmed?
‘Bel-air’ is fully recorded in the US, especially in California and surrounding areas, and Pennsylvania. As the actual series toured the two regions, the creators chose specific locations to cater to fans. However, as Morgan recalls, the resume has been a Kansas City project.
He got the idea to start driving on Highway 71 in the city, where he was born. A short fan trailer took Morgan eight days to make it. Philly’s recording of the sequel took place in Kansas City within four days while en route to LA to film more sequences.
After a brief success, the project received more funding and was eventually upgraded to a series. Therefore, creators can stick to the story and sequence of the film in Pennsylvania. Corey Kaplan, the production designer of ‘The X-Files,’ came on board to work on the project, while Kate Weddle and Tim Eckel co-chaired the art department.
California
“Bel-Air.” Most of the recording took place in and around the City of Angels, a large city scattered along the Pacific coast of California. The city has doubled as a mecca of the global film industry. The Hollywood film industry caters to producers and filmmakers from around the world.

As the series unfolded dramatically, the actors and crew had more room to move. Some recordings may take place at Universal Studios Hollywood, the 100th Universal City Plaza movie theater, in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles County. The cast and crew headed for the beach to film a sequence.
Pennsylvania
A few original series were recorded in Philadelphia. Apart from being the largest city in Pennsylvania, Philadelphia is also one of the healthiest cities in the US. Will’s character is from town, and Philly’s early exposure makes a big difference in the fertile Bel-air environment.
