The amazing Gothic Revival is popular among tourists. In addition, the fake castle gardens received the title “Garden of International Importance.” It is not surprising, therefore, that the film’s crew used the beautiful green sky surrounding a large building.
However, the interior of the royal castle was actually a lens at the Olveston Historic Home. The Jacobe style building is located at 42 Royal Terrace, North Dunedin. Originally built as the residence of businessman and philanthropist David Theomin and his family, the house was opened to the public as a historic museum in 1967.
In addition, we see Oamaru’s Victorian Precinct on Harbor Street, South Hill, in a series that features a street party. Several scenes were recorded in various parts of Dunedin, including Vogel Street and Princes Street. Vogel Street was designed to represent New York City.
