‘Station Eleven’ is a sci-fi series set against the backdrop of the global flu pandemic that wiped out much of humanity. Based on the novel of the same name by Emily St. John Mandel, the story follows the circle of travel artists as they try to understand the new world they have discovered for themselves. The show’s surreal backdrop goes a long way in making the city and the post-apocalyptic premise believable. Station Eleven.
Where Was Station Eleven Series Filmed?
“Station Eleven” was filmed in parts of Canada and the United States, particularly in Ontario and Illinois. Production staff used several indoor and outdoor locations and had to relocate due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
According to sources, filming first started in Chicago in January 2020 but was interrupted. Lensing resumed in Ontario in February 2021 and is reported to be completed by July 2021.
Ontario
The story follows a circle of actors as they wander around the Great Lakes area. “Station Eleven.” Filming for the miniseries, of course, took place in and around downtown Toronto, which provided much of the show’s urban background. Some of the scenes were filmed around downtown Toronto, as well as in locations in various neighborhoods. The Elgin & Winter Garden on 189 Yonge Street in Toronto looks like a theater center on the Toronto skyline chain.

The production team spent time filming in Mississauga, which shares an eastern border with Toronto. Some scenes were filmed on the shores of Lake Ontario and in some other parts of the city.

Oshawa is another city where the production team spent time filming. Also on the shores of Lake Ontario, the city provided several outdoor filming locations for the show. The surrounding natural landscape is likely to be used as a backdrop for some important scenes.
Chicago
Filming began in Chicago at the beginning of “Station Eleven” before production was interrupted by the Kovid-19 pandemic. The crew spent time in the Uptown area around Sheridan Park at 1228 West Lawrence Avenue.

Apparently, other Chicago neighborhoods featured in the series include Hyde Park and the South Shore. In addition, lacing has also been done around Lake Park Avenue, Stony Island Avenue, and Blackstone Avenue.

In addition, the Jeffrey Plaza shopping center parking lot around South Jeffrey Boulevard and parts of 71st Street were reportedly used for filming.
