‘Memory,’ an old-school junkie who opposes a hero with a moral dilemma against the world. The story is a play on Jeff Geeraerts’ novel ‘De Zaak Alzheimer’ and a repetition of a Belgian-translated novel, ‘The Alzheimer Case’. In the film, Liam Neeson replaces Alex, a veteran criminal who works for a notorious criminal organization. Although he is known for his clever murder tactics, Alex refuses to pursue an activity that incites moral turmoil in his mind.
Thus, Alex becomes a victim of the organization he works for and the FBI. Alex can move around the corner while others continue to follow him, but for now, he loses a lot of memory, hindering his pursuit. With the exception of Neeson, Guy Pearce and Monica Bellucci played a key roles in this roaming and dirty drama. Most of the Memory film comes from unusual places, from cruise ships to luxury hotels.
Where Was Memory Movie Filmed?
‘Memory’ was recorded in Bulgaria and surrounding areas and in the US, especially Sofia and Texas. The main photography began on April 12, 2021, and appears to be completed within a few weeks or months.
David Tattersall, the famous cinematographer of ‘The Green Mile’ and ‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island,’ has taken the lead in photography. At the same time, Arta Tozzi, who collaborated with Campbell in ‘The Protégé,’ took to the board as a decorator of the set.
The team of Lorus Allen, Kes Bonnet, and Wolf Kroeger decided on a production project. Bulgaria offers a wide range of production facilities and attractions to increase the number of international features. In addition, the government provides a tax rebate of up to 25% on fair production costs, which sounds like a huge profit when it comes to a fair exchange rate.
Bulgaria
Many recordings of ‘Memory’ took place in and around Sofia, the historic capital of Bulgaria. Located at the back of Mount Vitosha, the city reflects a mix of cultures and buildings, thanks to its Greek, Roman, Ottoman, and Soviet history. Most of the film is filmed in and around the city, while the crew is immersed in the soul of the city.

The production team formed the foundation at New Boyana Film Studios, in ul “Kumata” 84, in the heart of the city. Several internal parts were fitted with lenses inside the main studio. The production area has a few fully equipped sound components and an underwater stage to aid recording.
Over the years, the studio has more than 500 titles, including blockbusters such as ‘300: Rise of an Empire’ to ‘London Has Fallen.’ The filming also took place on the outskirts of the city, which represented the Mexican landscape in the Memory film.

In addition, actors and staff also visited Sozopol, an ancient coastal town on the Black Sea coast. On the eastern side of the country, the Sozopol community has become a central town, thanks to its millennium history, vibrant culture, and sandy beaches.
While the crew was filming in the area, they were completely loyal and supported by the local council, which ordered the closure of the port to make it easier to record. Yacht scenes were recorded on a luxury yacht off the coast of Sozopol. Texas
Most of the ‘Memory’ story took place near the Mexican border. For a true view of the outdoor scenes, the production team moved to Texas, where they filmed the scenes in the southeastern township of El Paso. The filming took place on Scenic Drive, a two-mile [2 km] stretch of road around the eastern part of the mountains, offering spectacular views of the city.

Staff also filmed a few scenes on Rim Road, connecting Scenic Drive with the city. In addition, outdoor scenes were fitted with lenses in and around the city, especially in the Downtown region.
