Netflix’s ‘Spiderhead’ is a Science Fiction, Thriller film directed by Joseph Kosinski. Starting soon, it is about two inmates, Jeff and Lizzy, who are serving their sentences in a modern prison cell run by a man named Steve Abnesti. What makes this institution different is that it has arrangements for inmates to reduce their duration of sentencing by engaging in specific experiments involving mood-altering drugs.
When things go south while we check on Lizzy, Jeff helps her and tries her best to avoid all the trials to save her. The thrilling story of the movie, accompanied by a fine-tuning of a star-studded band, keeps the audience engaged in it from beginning to end. In the meantime, the background of the magnificent area often makes us wonder about the real places from ‘Spiderhead.’

Many important ‘Spiderhead’ sequences were lensed in the Gold Coast City, the local government area that includes the Gold Coast, and other surrounding areas in Queensland. A team of filmmakers set up camp at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Center, possibly to capture more movie footage. It is located at 2684-2690 Gold Coast Highway in the suburbs of Broadbeach.
A few scenes were also filmed in the Tallebudgera Valley, on the outskirts of the Gold Coast City. Actors and crews have used the Hinze Dam in the Gold Coast hinterland to record photographs taken at the film site. The dam blocks a reservoir called Advancetown Lake. Both of the places listed above are just 30-45 minutes from the town of Gold Coast.
Located on the New South Wales border near Tweed Shire, Gold Coast City was founded in 1948; However, its current status dates back to 2008. The Gold Coast is a major city in this state, and it is not only a tourist destination but also a great place to record. Over the years, many notable films and TV shows have featured neighborhoods of the coastal city; some of them are ‘Kong: Skull Island,’ ‘Scooby-Doo,’ ‘Rock Young,’ and ‘A Perfect Pairing.’
