Early season filming took place around Stuyswent Square Park, the General Grant National Memorial in Upper Manhattan, Broadway and West 58th Street, Lyceum Theater in Midtown Manhattan, and the Whitney Museum of American Art. The famous Perry Street, located outside the Carrie Bradshaw apartment, also served as a venue for the original exhibition.

Filming will also take place at Steiner Studio on 15 Washington Avenue in Brooklyn Borough, New York City. Located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the studio is known as the largest studio complex in the United States outside of California, California. The show’s production team built sets in the studio for interior shots.

Central Park, one of New York City’s iconic landmarks, also serves as a filming location for the show. The Bethesda Terrace View can be seen on the south shore of the lake in Central Park. The first season was filmed on 5th Avenue, one of New York City’s busiest routes, as well as the 14th Street / Eighth Avenue subway station complex.
