The office of Shirley Chisholm seen in the movie, is actually the office of the Cincinnati Mayor, Aftab Pureval at the time. Actress Regina King was actually very thankful for the mayor who gave her the permission. Furthermore, during a meeting in the movie, one may observe Arnold’s Bar and Grill on 210 East 8th Street, which is well-known for its historic architecture.
A large number of the movie’s scenes were shot on Court Street in Cincinnati’s downtown, with the imposing Hamilton County Courthouse in the distance.
