Fox’s “Accused” Based on the BBC One series of the same name by Jimmy McGovern, is a crime anthology series that shows the perspective of the defendant, as each episode begins with a courtroom scene, with no idea of the crimes committed by the defendants.

Where Was Accused Series Filmed?
“Accused” was filmed in Ontario, the economic center of Canada, which is also rich in natural diversity, its flora, fauna, and the mighty Niagara Falls! Filming began on April 13, 2022, and the crew finished in mid-November 2022.
Everyone on the team had to follow covid guidelines as the project began in the midst of a pandemic. The main known shooting areas for this series are Toronto, North Bay, and Huron County.

“Accused.’ Most of the sequences were shot in Toronto, which is no surprise as the city is a hub of creative and talented people. It is the capital of Ontario and lies on the northwest shore of Lake Ontario. In most movies and shows, the city represents New York City or the Midwestern United States. The simple reason is the low cost of filming and access to some of the best production facilities.

A few other popular crime shows filmed in Toronto are “The Mayor of Kingstown,” “Reacher,” and “The Boys.” Plus, it’s a melting pot for multiple cultures, giving creators access to the expertise of people from diverse backgrounds. Several sequences were also filmed at the Scarborough campus of the University of Toronto, located at 1265 Military Trail, Scarborough.
The crew rented a beautiful brick house in North Bay to film several scenes. The city is known for its beaches, parks, golf courses, marinas, and tourist attractions such as the Chief Commanda cruise, the Heritage Railway, and the Carousel. Located in the northwestern parts of Ontario, it is often referred to as the “Gateway to the North”.

The location does not require any permit fees and the filmmakers get the full support of the local residents when it comes to research that attracts them to film here. . ‘The Cardinal’ is another crime drama that was filmed in North Bay.
Several scenes were shot in Huron County, a town on the southeast shore of Lake Huron, a picturesque place known for its farming community. The exact filming location was Bayfield, a small village in Bluewater, Huron County. The makers may have shot a few scenes at the private Pioneer Park in the same village. It is very likely that the crew shot several scenes at Lake Huron as the makers explored the surrounding areas. Two dramatic films shown at Bayfield are “Trigger Point” and “Blue Water.” “Accused” is the directorial debut of several creators. It gives viewers a glimpse into how all the different directors flaunt their unique storytelling style and use the Ontario locations to intensify the narrative.
