The Witcher: Blood Origin is an action-adventure series created by Declan de Barra and Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, a prequel spin-off of the Henry Cavill-starrer “The Witcher.” Adapted from the book series The Witcher by Andrzej Sapkowski, it takes place almost 1200 years in the world of elves before the events of the original series. The narrative follows seven outcasts who decide to join forces to fight against a very powerful empire.
In addition to depicting the creation of the first Warlock and detailing the ancient elven civilization, the story also builds up and leads to the Conjunction of the Spheres. The series features stellar performances from a talented ensemble cast of Sophia Brown, Michelle Yeoh, Laurence O’Fuarain, Lenny Henry, and Mirren Mack.
While the action-packed narrative will keep viewers in suspense with each episode, the setting of an ancient elven civilization against the backdrop of some surreal locations makes one wonder where “The Witcher: Blood Origin” actually takes place.
