Netflix’s Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths or Bardo, falsa crónica de unas cuantas verdades is a Mexican black comedy written and directed by award-winning director Alejandro G. Iñárritu. It takes us on a rollercoaster ride with an acclaimed documentary filmmaker and journalist named Silverio, whose existential crisis gives way to dreamy visions.
When he returns to his home country after receiving a prestigious international award for his achievements, his memories and fears take over his presence and take him on an introspective journey.
Silverio begins to question his entire life, including his past, his success, the bonds he shares with his family, and his identity. Thanks to the brilliant acting performances of Daniel Giménez Cach, Ximena Lamadrid, Griselda Siciliani, and Iker Sanchez Solano, the narrative is all the more captivating and absorbing.
At the same time, the interesting visual elements, when the main character has his surreal visions, raise questions about the actual filming locations of the film.
