‘Smiley’ Based on Guillem Clay’s play of the same name, Netflix is a Spanish romantic comedy created by Guillem Clay himself that follows Álex, who is heartbroken when the boy he loves ghosts him after a few weeks of dating. In the heat of the moment, she lets her emotions get the best of her and sends a voice note asking for an explanation for this behavior. However, Álex accidentally sends a message to a stranger named Bruno.
This mistake has unexpected consequences for both Álex and Bruno as they decide to meet soon after. Now that the two men spend some time together, they navigate each other’s relationship and search for true love.
The narrative keeps viewers hooked to the series throughout each episode with various characters dealing with problems, hesitations, and missed connections. In addition, the use of interesting locations, including the bar where Álex works, will certainly make one wonder where “Smiley” is filmed.
Where Was Smiley Series Filmed?
The film Smiley is shot entirely in Spain, mainly in Barcelona. Principal photography on the inaugural iteration of the romance series began in May 2022 and wrapped about a month later, in June of that year.
