Lifetime’s “Christmas on Mistletoe Lake” Directed by Robin Dunn, is a romantic comedy, drama film that is part of Lifetime’s “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime” series. It follows an interior designer named Reilly Shore who follows her own tradition every Christmas – she chooses a random location on the map and embarks on an adventurous and exciting trip.
She travels to a town called Mistletoe Lake for the holidays this year. However, upon arrival, Reilly finds that the only bed and breakfast is full due to the annual Christmas Harbor Festival and he has nowhere to stay.
A soon-to-be twelve-year-old girl named Emma saves Reilly’s trip by inviting her to stay on their boat, which is being sold by her father, Raymond Mitchell. In return, he uplifts the girl by renovating the ship with him and convincing him to enter the festival.
The feel-good and romantic narrative will keep the audience hooked to the film, while the use of exciting locations set against the backdrop of a Christmas festival in a fictional city makes one curious about the actual shooting locations.

According to reports, the Main photography of the romantic film began in late October 2021 and wrapped up in about ten days in November of that year.

Many key sequences for “Christmas on Mistletoe Lake” were filmed in Caledonia, a community in Haldimand County, Ontario. The film unit is said to have set up camp at various locations throughout the community, including Edinburgh Square at 80 Caithness Street East, Kinsmen Park Trail at 49 Caithness Street West, and A Day In My Closet at 3 Sutherland Street West.

While Jones Bakery at 26 Argyle Street North operated as a general store, Caledonia Old Mill at 146 Forfar Street West was turned into an inn for the film.
In addition, some key driving scenes were recorded in and around the Caledonia Fairgrounds at 151 Caithness Street East. In an interview with The Haldimand Press in early November 2021, the film’s location manager, Alex Broughton, explained how Caledonia was the ideal location for their requirements.

For filming purposes, the production team of “Christmas on Mistletoe Lake” also traveled to St. Catharines, the largest city in Canada’s Niagara region. During the shoot, the cast and crew were spotted filming key sequences in Port Dalhousie, specifically in and around Lakeside Park at 1 Lakeport Road.

Additional portions for “Christmas on Mistletoe Lake” were recorded in Hamilton, a port city in the Canadian province of Ontario. Located in Southern Ontario, it is home to several tourist attractions such as the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, the Royal Botanic Gardens, the Bruce Trail, HMCS Haida National Historic Site, and the Canadian Football Hall of Fame to name a few.
