Lifetime’s “Merry Swissmas,” directed by John L’Ecuyer, is a romantic drama that revolves around a professional architect named Alex who has fond memories of Christmas with her best friend Beth. However, things change when the latter starts dating her ex, Jess.
Alex has missed the last few Christmases with her family due to work commitments. But this time, she is looking forward to spending personal time with her mother and attending the opening of her inn in Switzerland. Alex’s excitement is cut short when she discovers that Beth and Jesse are attending the inn’s grand opening.
Things seem brighter for Alex when she meets Liam, a single father who runs an inn. He introduces her to Swiss Christmas traditions and culture and allows her to give love another chance.
Alex and Liam’s blossoming and seemingly real romance keeps viewers guessing about the authenticity of the narrative. Furthermore, setting the Christmas season against the backdrop of Switzerland’s gigantic snow-capped mountains makes one wonder if “Merry Swissmas” was filmed in place.
