Netflix’s Matt Wright’s Wild Territory is a reality TV series that follows Matt Wright and his intrepid team of crocodile wranglers as they navigate one of the world’s wildest frontiers. Since working with crocodiles is in his blood, he and his crew work together to catch and relocate some of the most dangerous and giant crocodiles in the world to protect the reptiles and people from them.

Matt Wright’s Wild Territory was shot entirely in Australia, specifically in the Northern Territory. Principal photography for the inaugural iteration of the reality series seemingly began in early September 2021 and wrapped up in November of that year.

Additionally, north of Darwin, the Tiwi Islands, adjacent to the Timor Sea, are another place where Matt hunts crocodiles on the show. There, important sequences are filmed at Tiwi Islands Retreat, a luxury seaside resort on the western edge of Bathurst Island.
During the filming of the debut season, the cast and crew were spotted filming several key scenes in and around Daly River, a town located next to the river of the same name in the Northern Territory. Known as The Territory, the region is home to many protected areas and national parks
such as Barranyi National Park (North Island), Garig Gunak Barlu National Park, Kakadu National Park, Howard Springs Nature Reserve, and Casuarina Coastal Reserve.
