Mr. Harrigan’s Phone’ Directed by John Lee Hancock, is a horror film based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name from his collection If It Bleeds. A lonely boy befriends Mr. Harrigan, an elderly billionaire for whom he does odd jobs, and gives him an iPhone.
When the latter dies suddenly, Craig is devastated to lose his only friend and puts the phone in the coffin at the funeral. One day, unable to deal with his bullies, he calls the late billionaire’s phone, desperate to hear his voice again.
To Craig’s complete shock, he receives a response from Mr. Harrigan, who begins communicating with him regularly on the phone. But things take a turn for the worse when the teenager’s aggressors start dying one by one, and he fears that his late friend is to blame. While the suspenseful narrative scares the audience and keeps them hooked, the visual backdrop of the eerie small town adds to the scary aspect of Mr. Harrigan’s Phone film.
