Andor Season 1 Episode 4: Synopsis
Andor Season 1 Episode 4, To be honest, after watching the Obi-Wan Kenobi movie, I had no expectations for “Andor”. So my overall positive experience after watching the show could be a result of that. The biggest upgrade (and it’s surprising that it qualifies as an upgrade) is that it doesn’t use The Volume (which is the modern version of rear projection) all the time.
Scenes take place in real locations instead of a set that is expanded through The Volume. Production design by Luke Hull, cinematography by Adriano Goldman, editing by John Gilroy, overall art direction, costume design, hair and makeup, sound design, SFX, VFX, and CGI all work. tandem to give the show a grounded and realistic feel. Andor Season 1 Episodes 1, 2 & 3: Recap
Andor Season 1 Episode 1 opens with Cassian (Diego Luna) arriving on Morlan One looking for her sister in a bar. He angers a couple of guards who then follow him into the alleys to harass him. Under the guise of bribing them, Cassian lures the guards in and then beats the hell out of them. He accidentally kills one of the guards, and when the other one starts begging him, he kills him too. This will come as a surprise to anyone who hasn’t seen “Rogue One.”
But those who have seen it remember that this is almost exactly how Cassian is introduced in that film. Anyway, he boards his ship and flies to his home on the planet Ferrix, which is in the Morlani system, the free trade sector. There we are introduced to Cassian’s droid, B2EMO (Dave Chapman). And when he starts calling Cassian’s name to wake him up, we flashback to his Kenari past.
Andor Season 1 Episode 2 opens with Kassa and his friends heading toward the fallen ship. On their way, Kassa stops near a mining field, which means that the otherwise green planet is being turned upside down by the Imperium. Ferrix wakes up to the sounds of the town bell (hand-ringed by the most dedicated guy in the galaxy far, far away) and Bix learns of the APB on Cassian.
When Timm asks her why she looks so upset, she downplays the seriousness of the situation and runs away. But Timm peeks into her monitor and sees that the Pre-Mor Authority is looking for a Kenyan man residing in Ferrix and they want to bring him in for questioning. Although Bix told Cassian that she didn’t reveal the fact that she was a Kenari to Timm, the look on Timm’s face basically proves that she knows the Pre-Mor is after Cassian.
Andor Season 1 Episode 3, While inspecting a fallen ship, Kassa’s reflection causes him to destroy the panels. A much younger Maarva, Clem (Gary Beadle), Maarva’s partner, and a less damaged bee come across him while clearing the ship. After learning that a Republic frigate is coming, Maarva fires Kassa so she can save him from the coming attack. Back in the present, Cassian (who has already arranged for Ferrix to leave) tells Brass to take care of Maarva while he’s gone.
Bix meets up with Rael and they proceed to the location where the exchange is to take place. Syril and his team finally land in Ferrix and begin their search. The first person they interrogate is Maarva. Although he doesn’t say a word, Bee accidentally reveals Cassian’s location by playing his call on his speaker. As Syril begins to march toward Cassian, Rael enters the warehouse where Cassian is waiting for him. Next is Andor Season 1 Episode 4.
