“Yannik Zamboni.” AmazonPrime Video‘s “Making The Cut” is an interesting show for people who are interested in fashion design and the ideas behind creating a particular outfit. The series takes the form of a competitive design reality show and brings together a group of talented fashion designers around the world. These contestants are then forced to battle a series of increasingly difficult challenges designed to test their courage, talent, technique, and vision, among other things.
Additionally, as a contestant is eliminated after each challenge, the competition heats up quite a bit as the last one standing is offered a massive cash prize and some much-needed exposure. Swiss designer Yannik Zamboni seemed to be quite the promising contestant ever since he was introduced on Season 3 of ‘Making The Cut’.
Moreover, his excellent drive, cheerful demeanor, and determination to do better made his fans want to know more about the up-and-coming designer. Don’t worry because here’s everything we know about Yannik.
Yannik Zamboni comes from a close family and grew up in a very small town in Switzerland with a total of about 700 people. Growing up in such a city made him form a strong bond with his family, and to this day the designer takes responsibility for his success to his loved ones. In fact, he loves staying true to his roots through his creations and often takes time out of his busy schedule to spend with his loved ones.
Interestingly, after high school, Yannik enrolled at the Swiss Marketing Academy to become a Switzerland-certified marketing specialist. However, designing has always been his passion; therefore, in 2015 he joined the STF Schweizerische Textilfachschule as a fashion assistant.
Since then, there has been no looking back as the promising young designer completed his BA in Fashion Design at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW and made a name for himself in the fashion industry.
Yannik Zamboni’s Career
While still at university, Yannik Zamboni gained some event management experience at Coty (Wella Schweiz) and in September 2018 he even took on an internship at London-based Feng Chen Wang.
Finally, in September 2020, Yannik launched his fashion label, Maison Blanche, and has since made a name for himself in the industry. Maison Blanche’s approach to design is quite unorthodox, as Yannik tries to solve all problems, whether socio-political, ecological, or economic, through his designs.
In addition, several of Yannik’s creations are inspired by the LGBTQ+ community and the reforms they have fought for throughout the ages. Surprisingly, while talking about his appearance in ‘Making The Cut, he claimed that he had no interest in appearing on television, but as he was running low on funds, the massive prize money and exposure appealed to him.
Yannik Zamboni’s Girlfriend
Unfortunately, Yannik Zamboni is quite private about his personal life and prefers to stay under the radar. He hasn’t revealed much about his dating life in public and there are no reports linking him with a partner.
