Locke & Key is a fantasy drama Tv series developed by Meredith Averill, Carlton Cuse, and Aron Eli Coleite. Based on the comic book series of the same name by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodríguez. It follows the Lockes after the death of Rendell Locke, the family patriarch, who perishes under mysterious circumstances. After this tragic event, the Locke siblings — Kinsey, Tyler, and Bode — and their mother, Nina, move into their hometown, the Keyhouse.
After spending some time in their new abode, the siblings discover that the Keyhouse possesses many mysterious keys that can be used to magically unlock several doors. However, a demonic entity with evil plans is also after these keys. In Season 3, Eden Hawkins uses the Echo Key and brings back Captain Frederick Gideon as an Echo, who plans to take revenge on the Locke family. Where Was Locke & Key Season 3 Series Filmed?
Season 3 of ‘Locke & Key’ was filmed in Ontario and Nova Scotia, specifically in Toronto, Mississauga, Woodstock, and Lunenburg. Principal photography for the third iteration of the fantasy horror series began in early May 2021 and ended on September 15, 2021.
While the series is set in the fictional coastal town of Matheson, Massachusetts, the production team brought it to life using a mix of real-life locations and scenes in various Canadian cities. Ontario
Many key scenes for the third season of ‘Locke & Key’ were filmed in Toronto, the capital of Ontario and the country’s most populous city. Similar to the first two seasons, the cast and crew used the Cinespace Film Studios facility to shoot several exterior and interior scenes for Season 3.
Located at 777 Kipling Ave #300 in Etobicoke, the interior scenes take place in the Keyhouse and Drowning Caves. were recorded in a studio. The company was established in 1988 and consists of many extensive stages that are sufficient to meet all kinds of production requirements.

Humber College at 205 Humber College Boulevard in Etobicoke also served as a prominent production location for Season 3, as most of the scenes at the fictional Matheson Academy were filmed on the college’s campus. In addition, the front facade of the Keyhouse building was built by the Toronto film crew, and the rest of the exterior was created using CGI.

To film some key scenes, the production team camped out at the Lakeside Promenade in Mississauga, a city adjacent to Toronto, Ontario. In May 2021, during the early stages of production on the final season, the cast and crew were spotted filming several important scenes at Museum Square in Woodstock, a city in southwestern Ontario. According to reports, they turned the location into a part of a fictional Massachusetts town.
Nova Scotia
Additional parts of the third season of ‘Locke & Key’ were filmed in Lunenburg, a port city on the south coast of Nova Scotia. Most of the exterior scenes of The Drowned Caves were filmed in this city. Interestingly, Lunenburg doubles for the fictional Matheson for most of the series.

Finally, some key exterior scenes for the third season were filmed on location at Montague Street, Bluenose Drive, and 9 King Street in downtown Lunenburg.
