The Sandman is a superhero drama series created by Neil Gaiman, David S. Goyer, and Allan Heinberg. Based on the classic DC Comics series of the same name by Neil Gaiman. The narrative focuses on the title character, also known as ‘Morpheus’ or ‘Dream’, who has the power to control all dreams.
However, in 1916, he was captured during an occult ritual and imprisoned for more than a century. After Dream is freed from his long imprisonment, he must embark on a journey across different worlds and timelines to repair all that his absence has caused and restore peace and order to his kingdom.
The superhero series stars some brilliant actors like Tom Sturridge, Gwendoline Christie, Vivienne Acheampong, and Boyd Holbrook who do an excellent job with their roles. In addition, the suspenseful and dramatic narrative is complemented by the rather dark undertone used throughout the series on the ominous backdrops of mythical worlds, including hell.
