“Purple Hearts” was filmed in Texas and California, specifically in San Diego County, Los Angeles County, Riverside, and Austin. Principal photography on the Netflix movie began in August 2021 and ended in October that year.
Texas

Some key parts of ‘Purple Hearts’ were recorded in San Diego County, the second most populous county in California, located in the southwest corner of the Golden State. In particular, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton at 20250 Vandegrift Boulevard in Oceanside is where many Marine Corps-related sequences were filmed. Interestingly, the film is set in the coastal town of Oceanside; therefore the parts where the lenses are there add authenticity to the scenes.

The cast and crew of the romantic drama also appear to have camped in Riverside, the city and county seat of Riverside County.
