JugJugg Jeeyo: Movie Synopsis
Kuldeep “Kukoo” Saini and Nainaa Sharma are school sweethearts who eventually get married. The couple, who moved to Toronto, Canada, is already feeling the five-year itch. Nainaa holds a white-collar position in a reputable company and Kukoo works as a bouncer in a nightclub.
Kukoo and Nainaa’s marriage falls apart due to long silences, unfinished conversations, and embittered hearts. As a result, they decide to file for divorce. However, there is still unfinished business to take care of when the two travel to Patiala for Kuko’s sister Ginny’s wedding. Kukoo and Nainaa decide to act like a happy couple until the wedding is over, even though Ginny also seems to have conflicted feelings for her ex-boyfriend Gaurav instead of her fiance Baljeet.
One day Kukoo discovers that his father Bheem had an affair with his 12th-grade maths teacher Meera; in a state of shock, he reveals the affair to his mother Geeta, who, after a public outburst by Nainaa, realizes that Kukoo is seeking a divorce from her.
Bheem denies this and causes a ruckus when he suffers a heart attack, though it turns out to be a ruse on his part and he eventually returns home. Finally, Kukoo, with the help of his brother-in-law and best friend Gurpreet, hatches a plan to bring Geet, Bheem, and Meer under one roof. The next day, Geeta meets Meera at the temple and urges her to marry him.
Feeling conflicted and enraged, Kukoo returns home only to have an argument with Nainaa and Geeta. Kukoo leaves the house and goes to a bar with Gurpreet. At night, Bheem leaves the house hoping to move in with Meera permanently, but is rejected and spends the night on the streets; the next morning, he calls Kukoo, bragging about his “rejection” of Meera, and asks him to go home with him.
Geeta forgives Bheem after his apology, and Ginny decides to remarry the couple as part of a plan that almost fails after Gurpreet’s plan to “seduce” Bheem, around the same time as Naina’s earlier outburst, causes an enraged Bheem to reveal his true feelings for Meera.
On the day of the wedding, a drunken Kukoo with Gurpreet by his side calls Meera and claims that Bheem “kicked” her in favor of his wife, only for Meera to laugh it off, later revealing that it was her. who “fired” him. Rage disrupts the ceremony much to Bheem’s chagrin and reveals the truth about Bheem and his own impending divorce.
Although Geeta disagrees about Kuko’s opinion of Bheem as she slaps him for insulting his father, she eventually decides to annul the marriage and file for divorce, causing Ginny to reveal that she too fears her marriage will fail because she loves someone else. Finally, when they file for divorce, Bheem and Geeta are given a six-month probationary period and want to move on.
But before he can proceed with the divorce call, Kukoo realizes his folly and apologizes to Nainaa, promising unconditional support. Seeing the sincerity and madness in his apology, she reconciles with him; Bheem and Geeta decide to give it a second chance as well.
Two weeks later, Kukoo and Nainaa leave for New York and Bheem hopes to win Geet back on probation.

There is no way this movie is going to knock it out of the park. However, it is not a complete failure either. Yes, jokes are bad. But the conviction with which they are delivered compels us to forgive them. Anil Kapoor and Varun Dhawan are the life and soul of the film, though it was a missed opportunity for Neeta Kapoor and Kiara Advani. They should have seen more screen time. We felt there was something interesting about Ginny’s character and it would be fun to see the film unfold through her eyes.
We also feel that Geeta’s reasons for wanting to renew her vows needed an explanation. They could have dropped one of the unnecessary songs and made room for them. We can’t pinpoint what works in a movie. It probably promised what it might bring. There is a lot of scope for ‘Jug Jug Jeeyo’ to be a better film and we hope Bollywood takes note for future projects. “JugJugg Jeeyo.”
