HIT The First Case: Synopsis
Vikram Rudraraju is a police officer in the Telangana Crime Investigation Department and works in the “HIT” Homicide Intervention Team. He is very smart and quick-witted and solves crucial cases with his ability to pick up even the tiniest details, earning the trust of his elder Viswanath. He is in love with Neha, his colleague, and court clerk. Rohit is Vikram’s close friend and colleague who accompanies him in most of his cases. Vikram is constantly at loggerheads with Abhilash, another officer who crosses lines with Vikram. Vikram occasionally suffers from PTSD due to his past experience and refuses to take pills as he believes it slows down his abilities.
Meanwhile, a girl named Preethi is driving on the highway and her car stops on the side because it has a breakdown. Officer Ibrahim stops by to help her and she calls her father because she forgot her phone at home. When her father comes to pick her up, he sees that she is lost and Ibrahim says that she got into a blue car and he thought it was his car. When Preethi’s parents make a demanding approach to Ibrahim, he remains firm and insults them. Being a good friend of Preethi’s parents, Viswanath decides to suspend Ibrahim because of his behavior and because he doesn’t trust him.
Vikram decides to take a six-month break to ease his PTSD attacks. After two months, Vikram calls to that Neha is missing. He decides to go back to Viswanath and ask for the case file that Neha is missing, but he says that Abhilash is handling the case and can’t give it to him. Vikram decides to ask Shinde, who is Neha’s colleague, about the cases Neha has been solving for the past two months. Vikram and Rohit connect Preethi and Neha’s lost cases and deduce that the same person is involved in both cases.
Vikram decides to investigate and asks Srinivas for Preethi’s case and takes over the case. Meanwhile, Abhilash suspects that Vikram was the one who kidnapped Neha. Vikram decides to go to Preethi’s college and asks Ajay and Sandhya about what happened last night and they give the same answer as they were in the pub.
Vikram and Rohit ask both of Preetha’s parents and they say that her parents died in a plane crash and she lived with them and Preetha’s neighbor Sheela because of it. Vikram and Rohit start deducing the case and come to the conclusion that Sheela kidnapped Preethi after seeing Sheela’s blue car and a note forged by Sheela stating the whereabouts of Preethi’s corpse.
Ibrahim then sees the car and says that Sheela was not the one who kidnapped Preethi. Vikram and his team dig up the body behind the house and find that it is inconspicuous and has several DNA samples on it. Vikram suspects Ajay because he said Preethi was his girlfriend. Using security cameras at the toll gate, Vikram deduces that the man he kidnapped was Fahad.
After Vikram, Abhilash and Ibrahim find Fahad, Ibrahim is shot by Fahad while Vikram and Abhilash capture him. Fahad takes them to the house where he got the money to kidnap Preethi. Vikram finds out that it was Rohit’s house and shoots him before Rohit can shoot him. Rohit’s wife Swapna comes down while Abhilash goes up and gets Neha. Swapna explains how Preethi, Swapna, and her sister were orphans and how a rich couple from the US adopted one of them.
Swapna begs Preethi to get her sister adopted because of the hole in Swapna’s sister’s heart. Preethi does not give up and is adopted and moves in with the couple. Swapna’s sister dies under 2 due to lack of medical care and since then she blamed Preethi for it. Then recently, Swapna saw Preethi in a club and got her kidnapped. He then kills Preethi and has Rohit bury her and plant DNA evidence. Swapna is arrested. “HIT The First Case.”
HIT The First Case Ending Explained: What Happened At The End?
Finally, when things come to a standstill, a girl comes to the police station saying that she saw someone in a blue car on the highway who tried to forcefully approach her – the exact circumstances in which Preethi disappeared. Vikram follows the trail and finds a person who works as a mechanic in a garage. During the interrogation, it comes to light that his own colleague Rohit was the mastermind behind the whole thing. He goes to ask him why he did this, but Rohit refuses to answer and pulls out his gun, prompting Vikram to shoot him in self-defense. Neha is found, tied up, unharmed and safe.
Vikram deduces that the reason behind Rohit’s actions is his wife Sapna. She admits that she and Preethi grew up in an orphanage and that she has always had a crush on her. But when Preethi was adopted, she had to move on in her life. Years later, when she reconnected with her childhood sweetheart, she was rejected because Preethi was straight.
However, Sapna did not want to give up and had Preethi kidnapped to convince her to start a new life with her. In the scuffle that ensued, Preethi was seriously injured and eventually died. Rohit helped her cover up the crime. He was the one who planted everyone’s DNA samples on her body and passed them on to Sheela, all in an attempt to buy more time before they could move out of the country. They kidnapped Neha because she was close to exposing them. But they never meant to hurt her.
As Sapna is put behind bars, Vikram finds a letter from Rohit that there were never any bullets in his gun. He also wrote that he knew that Vikram would eventually discover the truth and that he would like to die by his hand. It’s an emotional moment about the human errors that ultimately cause such tragedy, but executed so absurdly thanks to a lackluster film focused solely on the bad stuff. “HIT The First Case” ends with someone trying to shoot Vikram and barely missing. This is a mystery that will be explored in the sequel. “HIT The First Case.”
