“Resident Evil” is an action horror tv series developed by Andrew Dabb and is the eighth live-action adaptation of the film series of the same name. The story takes place in two different timelines — 2022 and 2036.
The first storyline focuses on two 14-year-old sisters, Jade and Billie Wesker, who move to Umbrella’s planned community, New Raccoon City. They soon discover that their father has some dark secrets that have the potential to cause the destruction of the entire world.
The second timeline takes place 14 years in the future and follows one of the sisters, Jade. They are trying their best to survive in a post-apocalyptic world where only 15 million people live and billions of people and animals are infected with the T-Virus.

Where Was Resident Evil Series Filmed?
“Resident Evil” appears in South Africa and England, specifically in Cape Town and London. The original plan to shoot the first season from June to October 2020 was forced to postpone for the rest of the year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

South Africa
Most of the key sequences for ‘Resident Evil’ are shot in and around Cape Town, the largest city in the Western Cape province of South Africa. The production team travels across the legislative capital to obtain several interiors and exterior shots in suitable settings.

In particular, some dilapidated local buildings, including the Werdmuller Center at 189 Main Road in Claremont and the Maitland Abattoir (Old Abattoir Premises) at 53 Berkley Road in Ndabeni, served as several production locations for filming some of the season’s key on-location scenes. 1. However, the Werdmuller Center is said to have ended.
For the filming of most of the series’ interior scenes, the cast and crew of the action series camped out at film studios in Cape Town. Located on Film City Boulevard in Dreamworld, Cape Town Film Studios is known as the first custom-built hi-tech film studio complex in the country. The studio is home to five different sound stages of various sizes spread across five different buildings with state-of-the-art support services.

In addition, some sequences for the opening season were also shot aboard the Sarah Baartman and S.A. Agulhas with the help of Frog Squad, a company that specializes in underwater filming. Sarah Baartman is a Damen Offshore Patrol Vessel 8313 class environmental protection vessel based in South Africa.
On the other hand, S.A. Agulhas is a former polar research ship and ice-strengthened training ship also based in South Africa. After her retirement in April 2012, she was transferred to the South African Maritime Safety Authority, where she is used as a training ship.
England
Other parts of ‘Resident Evil’ Season 1 were filmed in London, the capital and largest city of England, and also in the United Kingdom. Located on the River Thames in South East England, London has a significant influence on the arts, culture, fashion, entertainment, education, media, healthcare, business, and finance to name a few.
