With a regular leap into the timeline, we see how Luciana was the author of Kloster, whose works contain sexually explicit language. After saying that he did not read her symptoms well and tried to kiss Luciana, the relationship between writer and writer disappears. However, the next complaint of sexual harassment from Luciana then reached Kloster’s residence and was seen by his depressed wife. When the author comes home that night, he finds that his wife has killed their daughter and committed suicide. Realizing that the tragedy was caused by Luciana’s complaint, Kloster quietly pays her the necessary legal compensation and is locked inside.

Luciana feels bad and does not take out Kloster’s check. However, she cannot stop thinking about her and is shocked to see her during a family visit. A few hours later her brother was found dead on the beach due to drowning. Luciana claims that Kloster killed her brother, but no one believes him. A few years later, her parents were poisoned, and her father died. The poison is caused by the wild mushrooms they ate, but, once again, Kloster’s hand appears to be a criminal.

What Is The Real Meaning of ‘The Wrath of God’?

‘The wrath of God,’ first and foremost, includes Bible metaphors that refer to the wrath or vengeance of a person who is more powerful or superior. The word seems to be used in a strange way to show how the opponent, Kloster, sees himself. Despite the lack of clear evidence, the author is known to have a strong intention to retaliate against Luciana. He blamed the woman for the death of his wife and young daughter.

Thus, Kloster, through his complex, age-old plot to assassinate Luciana’s family, actually sees himself as a god. Somehow, he behaves like a revengeful king as he slowly eats Luciana until she kills himself. Moments before committing suicide, Kloster explains to his beloved audience how his new book focuses on God’s justice and divine vengeance. This is probably the closest character to a character from a film until he concepts a title. However, it is clear who the title is.

After all, the first Spanish movie title literally translates as “The Wrath of God” and, as a result, has the same significance as the English title. However, the movie is based on a book entitled ‘La muerte lenta de Luciana B,’ translated by ‘The Little Death of Luciana B,’ by Guillermo Martínez. The title of the book is easy to explain and actually refers to Kloster’s request for revenge, which, within a decade, resulted not only in Luciana’s death but also in the death of most of her family.

Finally, the title of the movie discards the title of its sourcebook and selects one of the main themes of the story. Precisely, the title of the movie tells the complexity of Kloster’s god and how he controls Luciana’s life through revenge.

The opponent’s speech eventually removes any doubts about how he photographed himself, and by seeing how he appears to have plans for Luciana’s younger sister, the last surviving family member, his vengeance is complete. Considering the extent of Kloster’s explicit plan, ‘The Wrath of God’ begins to feel like an appropriate title that is not just an exaggeration.

The Wrath of God Ending, Explained: What Happened At The End?

Individually, members of Luciana’s family died for various reasons until only she and her sister survived. Although Esteban is beginning to believe her, his dislike of Kloster in the past is revealed, which makes his opinion on the matter green. Guided by her sister’s safety, Luciana does not allow Valentina to leave her. However, the younger sister secretly communicates with Kloster and interviews him, until receives an unpublished copy of his new book as a gift. When Luciana sees that Kloster is in contact with her younger sister, she decides to confront him when presents his book.

Then we go back to the scene where the movie opens, except for this time, we have the details of what happened. Kloster goes up to the third floor, where Luciana is waiting for him. When she reveals that she is ready to commit suicide to save her sister’s life, the author does not try to stop Luciana, and she jumps, dying instantly.

The final scene of the movie is set during the cremation of Luciana’s body, in which we see Valentina and Kloster crying in their arms. Esteban, who is the only one who attended the event, criticizes the author for being a monster and reminds him that Valentina is young but gets a strange, slightly shocking response from Kloster.

Finally, even Esteban, who seems to be the only one who takes Luciana’s allegations seriously and even investigates them, cannot say for sure whether Kloster was responsible for the killings or not. There is little chance that the death of Luciana’s family members is all part of a series of tragic events. However, even Esteban (and the viewer for sure) realizes that death is a very serious danger.

In addition, two deaths – one of Luciana’s brothers in a holiday home and one of her father’s eating poisonous mushrooms, are part of the life of a young woman Kloster knows. The other two murders can be freely linked to the author, but without direct evidence and the authorities who have no interest in finding the famous author guilty, the death is caused by the crime of lust committed by others. Luciana even claims that the reason Kloster first appeared in public in recent years is that he has an alibi in case he is linked to any genocide.

Finally, there is only some evidence linking Kloster to the death of Luciana’s family members. However, as he blames the tragic death of his wife and young daughter on Luciana, Kloster has a strong motive. The latter proves (at least to the audience) that Kloster has murdered Luciana’s family slowly and carefully and that he does not seem surprised by Luciana’s suicide proposal to save her sister’s life. In fact, by claiming that her sister’s fate is in her hands, Kloster pushes Luciana to commit suicide, actually tying up his ten-year revenge plan.

The movie closes with a dark note, with Kloster and Luciana’s sister Valentina appearing to be strangely close. The last thing the author said to Luciana before the latter committed suicide was that no harm would come to her younger sister. At Luciana’s next funeral, we see how Kloster twisted his word by not hurting young Valentina but doing what looked like a romantic bond with her.

Esteban squirms as he sees Kloster comforting Valentina and kissing her forehead. The reporter reminds an elderly writer that she is young enough to be his daughter, Kloster agrees, stating that his daughter Pauli (who died at the age of 5) would have been the equivalent of a living Valentina.

However, he was followed by a heartbreaking suggestion that Valentina would be 18 years old in a few months, stating that they would have a romantic relationship. The little girl, protected by the truth by Luciana and thrilled with the attention of a well-known author, has no reason to doubt his motives.

In his twisted way, Klastor will keep his word to Luciana and not let “danger” befall Valentina. He tells his younger brother since they both lost their families. Of course, Valentina can know that Kloster may be responsible for the death of all members of her family and that she is just the last step in her ten-year plan. By wrapping little Valentina in her finger, Kloster does not kill but still takes the life of the last remaining member of Luciana’s family.
