The thriller action movie “Last Seen Alive” is a great watch for some light entertainment without the need to scrutinize its content. Following the story of Will Spann, as he desperately tries to save his marriage with his wife after a sudden disappearance one day, a plot or movie narrative is not uncommon. However, it does not significantly diminish and provides useful information without being noticeable.
Last Seen Alive: Synopsis
As police open their investigation into the case, detective Paterson arrives at the scene and takes all the necessary information from Will. Meanwhile, Will was driving to Lisa’s parents’ house, a few miles from the gas station, to check to see if she had arrived for some reason. The parents, who do not seem to be getting along well with their son-in-law, get worried as Lisa arrives, and they start to blame Will.
Police were also suspicious of the husband, as the couple was not in a happy mood and were about to split up because of Lisa’s involvement in extramarital affairs. This gave Will a good reason to try to disappear his wife, perhaps even killing her, but Paterson lets Will go free for now. Paterson seemed to know the owner of the petrol station very well, as he was a resident of a small town, and called him by his first name, Oscar, asking him to show a picture of a security camera.
Oscar mentions that the cameras are not working, but after the detective is gone, Will sees one camera with its lights on, which means it is still working. Will enters angrily and threatens Oscar, before finally hitting him and taking the hard drive and the recorded image to the police station. While looking at the video, they found Lisa talking to a man just outside the store, before disappearing as the truck removed her eyes for a moment. Showing the video to Lisa’s parents, Will discovers that the man who was seen talking to her is actually their assistant, called Knuckles.
They also explain that Knuckles went to school with Lisa, but the boy grew up without a stable job or career, so he now does extraordinary work for the people in town, including himself. My mother then points to the car in the video and remembers seeing the same car a few days back at a nearby garage. Will Will soon arrives at the garage, without informing any of the police, and disappears into wreckage with an imaginary little house in the middle of it.
He sees the Knuckles trying to put something in the bag, and it seems to be holding someone. Will also breaks into the house but finds Knuckles packing his bags just in a hurry. A fight breaks out, and Knuckles also tries to pull out his gun on the husband, but he is abducted after Will cut off his muscles. Knuckles now explains that he had taken Lisa to a man named Frank, but did not want to leave her alone there, as Frank appeared to be very dangerous. However, he will not waste any more time listening, as he ties Knuckles’ hands and legs and throws him into his car, instructing him to lead the way to Frank.
As Will drove his car quickly toward the scene, he exceeded the speed limit and was immediately chased by a police car. He does not want to make the situation worse, and draws,s and cooperates with routine tests. The officer, however, suspected something was wrong and asked Will to get out of the car instead of giving him a speeding ticket. As the officer is about to unzip the car trousers, where the Knuckles are hiding holding his breath, Will runs into the nearby forest.
When he is no longer in a hurry, Will walks to find Frank’s place on foot and approaches it within an hour or so. When he arrives, he realizes that it is like a drug-addiction camp where a large quantity of chemical drugs is produced. He sees Frank, pointing to a man while others are calling his name, and secretly follows him to investigate. Meanwhile, Oscar also appears to be coming to the camp, and it looks like the man used to visit there.
Eventually, Will is able to get closer to Frank inside a large barn converted into a meth lab; out of his hiding place facing Frank and his men, gunfire erupted immediately. The revengeful husband kills the goons and tries to put Frank in a corner to find Lisa, but in the process, he shoots the man dead. Will feels broken, as the last straw that reached his wife is now lost, and as he exits the building in disgrace, he does not see the small fire that started when the guns were fired and all the dangerous flammable liquid.
He begins to faint slowly, and Lisa’s memories haunt him, and Oscar comes out of the kraal pointing a gun at Ntando. The store owner now claims to know Lisa’s location and is seeking $ 20,000 to obtain her information. Will doesn’t take him seriously at first, but this changes very quickly when Oscar pulls out Lisa’s phone, which clearly shows that he too is involved. Will agrees to pay the bill, but as soon as Oscar was about to say something, the whole kraal exploded, and he died instantly.
During this time, detective Paterson had arrived at the scene on the main road where Will’s car was parked, and Knuckles was found in the middle of it. The police are now investigating the Knuckles and using all the necessary force to release the information. The knuckle eventually breaks and reveals exactly what happened: as the man did not have a big job but was an expensive drug addict to take care of, he always needed cash.
While working at Lisa’s parents’ house, he had heard that the woman was returning to the city a few days later, and had planned the kidnapping and had shared it with Frank. They knew that Lisa was married to a wealthy businessman, Will, and knew that the husband would pay a heavy price to save his wife.
Although Frank did not really approve of the plan, Knuckles had decided to pursue it when he saw his childhood friend at the gas station that morning. Wanting to give her the papers to give to her father, Knuckles managed to bring Lisa closer to his car and abducted her.
He then took Lisa to Frank’s drug camp, but the man was furious as he speculated that Knuckles would actually leave his trail at the gas station. Saying that it was too dangerous to keep Lisa or even bring her back, Frank had instructed Knuckles to dig a hole where Lisa would be buried after being killed. The knuckles were very scary because of the whole situation and they fled into the forest while digging a hole.
He had just returned home from packing when Will came and attacked him. In his confession to Paterson, Knuckles kept saying that Lisa was really dead because Frank was too dangerous for a man to keep her alive.
Last Seen Alive Ending Explained: Lisa Is Alive or Dead?
Detective Paterson arrives at the drug parlor, where some police and paramedics have already arrived after a serious explosion. He finds Thanda depressed sitting in another corner and asks the husband to stay there before he tells her the news of Lisa’s death. As the detective begins to look around the area and finds a large hole dug in the back of the house, Will seems to hear a loud banging or roar nearby. Paterson pulls out planks used to hide the hole and finds it empty.
About this time, Will finds a small outdoor house where loud noises are heard. Suddenly with the hope of her newfound hope, she opens the door and goes in and finds Lisa lying inside alive but with her hands and feet and her mouth bound. Thanda carries his wife outside with a hero, while she begs him to save her and take her away.
It seems that although Knuckles had reported some of Lisa’s deaths, it was a man-made prediction based on how Frank was, and the drug lord seemed to be very busy in his business right now before killing the woman. Or it could also be that he, too, had finally decided to keep Lisa alive in case he could make money as a ransom when he didn’t have to share it with Knuckles.
Once Lisa has been examined and taken to her home, Paterson arrives and meets Will on the way, claiming that Knuckles has signed a confession, admitting all kidnapping charges. The detective informs us that although Knuckles’ version is the only valid account of what happened after the kidnapping, as everyone was dead and Lisa would not know about it, it seems, Paterson says, Oscar had seen the whole incident in security. camera pictures and had decided to get himself part of the ransom.
On his way to Frank’s camp, he must have picked up Lisa’s phone from the gas station, which had fallen apart during the abduction. Paterson also revealed that not all the corpses in the kraal died as a result of the explosion, indicating that he knew Will had committed suicide, but that the police had no problem letting it slip.
Finally, as it starts to rain outside, Lisa comes out and asks Will to reunite her with her family inside, suggesting a great loving reunion between the two. After all, the “Last Seen Alive” has the potential to look like a counterfeit conspiracy to save a broken marriage.
