‘This Is Going to Hurt’ was filmed in England, especially in different parts of London, where the story is set. Jane Featherstone – one of the show’s biggest producers – revealed that the production has faced a number of obstacles along the way.
The original plan was to record a series based on a real hospital, but the Covid-19 epidemic has made it an unsafe and unusable option. All the important sequences of the first season of ‘This Is Going to Hurt’ were recorded in London, the capital of England and the United Kingdom. Since the production team could not use the site of a real-life hospital, they apparently camped in a disused university building in Mile End, East London.

They built a well-constructed hospital, with three bathrooms, an operating room, and a staff ward. The program’s coordinator, Holly Pullinger, revealed that Adam Kay (co-ordinator) was so impressed with the treatment set that he contracted a cold and thought he was back in the hospital.
In terms of recording the outside of the hospital, the actors and staff use a real-world hospital – Ealing Hospital. Located at 601 Uxbridge Road in the Southall district of London in Ealing, it is a standard NHS hospital.

In February 2021, while filming was just beginning, a team of filmmakers was seen filming key scenes on Bloomsbury Street in the London-based Camden area. In addition, they set off for the nearby Marchmont Road to inspect a few more consecutive first rounds.

For recording purposes, a co-production team even set up camp at SophistiCats Euston – an adult entertainment club. Located at 34/38 Eversholt Street, it is considered the first strip club in all of London. Several indoor scenes involving Adam Kay were filmed in the club, prompting spectators to change the atmosphere in the normal area of the hospital. “This Is Going to Hurt.”
