‘Dumb And Dumber is a classic (1994) street film with its disgusting name. The film begins when a woman leaves her bag at the airport. Limo driver Lloyd Christmas does not take the time to fall over the woman’s wheels, and the bag gives him a great opportunity to meet a woman across the country. Lloyd picks up Harry Dunne, his “dumber” friend, and they set out across the country to return the suitcase.
The combined powers of Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels, and Lauren Holly make the trip worthwhile. Since its release, the movie has gained the status of a program due to its slapstick comedy style, unconventional moments and situations, and Mutt Cutts van. The film is seen nationwide, from Providence to Aspen, in parking lots, gas stations, and on the street.

‘Dumb and Dumber was recorded all over the US, mainly in Utah, Rhode Island, and Colorado. The main photography began on April 30, 1994, and ended on July 6 of that year. The cinematography was hosted by Mark Irwin of ‘Scream (1996)’ and Old School fame.
On the other hand, Sydney J. Bartholomew Jr., who worked on ‘Me, Me, and Irene,’ handled most of the design work. Now let’s take you to some places where the movie was filmed.
Park City
“Dumb And Dumber.”The snowy parks of Park City, a small town in Summit County of Utah, represent parts of Aspen, although actors and crews also visit Colorado to record more sequences. A few street scenes and house scenes are recorded in Park City. Located about 20 miles [32 km] southeast of the city of Salt Lake City, this beautiful mountainous city has regenerated itself as Aspen. Located at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains, it offers a spectacular view of the icy climate.

An additional sequence was recorded in Ogden, a town located in Weber County about 10 miles east of Salt Lake City. Dante’s Inferno Restaurant is a myth, but the scenes were recorded at 845 West 24th Street in central Ogden. Actors and staff shoot nationally, anywhere, and wherever they like. Other scenes were recorded in the Utah region, especially in the Provo-Orem city center.
Also recorded in the region were photographs of American Fork Canyon. The canyon overpasses the Wasatch Range. Truck stop scenes were recorded at Lakepoint, an isolated community on the eastern edge of the Tooele district in the north. In a rib cage, Harry and Lloyd bathed in a car. The sequence was recorded at the Bear Mountain Chalet, a former car at 425 South Main Street in Heber City, a tourist town in Wasatch County.
Salt Lake City
“Dumb And Dumber.”Several Providence series were recorded in the area of Salt Lake City, the capital and most populous city in the US state of Utah. Some street scenes were recorded throughout the city. Significantly, actors and staff visited the Salt Lake International Airport, an international airport in the city center that caters to more than 26 million passengers annually.

Scenes are clearly inscribed on the door at 776 North Terminal Drive. Famous director Dennis Villeneuve filmed parts of his first feature, ‘August 32nd on Earth,’ at the airport. Harry and Lloyd’s apartment is also in town. Exterior scenes are recorded outside Smith Apartments, 228 S 300 East. Another film was also filmed in Sandy, a suburb of Salt Lake City.
Summit County
“Dumb And Dumber.”The production team did not stick to Aspen, aiming to give the tourist film a complete ambiance. They set off for Breckenridge, the most populous municipality in Summit County, to film some of the film scenes.

Some street scenes were recorded in the city, representing Aspen. More scenes were recorded in the region, especially in the Copper Mountain area. Ski scenes are licensed at the Copper Mountain Resort in Colorado.
Providence County
“Dumb And Dumber.”Several shots from the film’s earlier episodes were taken in Providence County of Rhodes Island. Providence is the home of Lloyd and Harry, so the production team had to head out for some photographs.

Early space photographs show the city in its glory, highlighting the Big Blue Bug, a large ant colony found near I-95 in Providence. The first street scenes were lensed at Cumberland, a city farther north in Providence County of Rhode Island.
Pennsylvania
“Dumb And Dumber.”While en route to Colorado, Lloyd takes a wrong turn, leading them straight to Nebraska.

After driving all night in Nebraska, they realized the mistake and ended up selling the van. Although the details are unclear, actors and staff filmed those scenes in the central and western states of Nebraska. Additionally, some street scenes were recorded in Pennsylvania.
Estes Park
“Dumb And Dumber.”The production unit is heading to Estes Park, a beautiful official town in Larimer County of Colorado, to record an important piece. Although the Danbury Hotel seems mythical, they have seen many scenes, including a bar and a series of stairs, on the grounds of the prestigious Stanley Hotel, a luxurious guesthouse at 333 Wonderview Avenue in the Estes Park community. In context, Stanley Park was a major source of inspiration behind Stephen King’s book ‘The Shining’.

The film also has other locations in Colorado, including a few photographs in Aspen and Morgan County. Some scenes were filmed at a truck stop in the Fort Morgan community in Morgan County of Colorado. The truck stop where they filmed the scenes was Coastal Truck Stop and Quiznos but is now being renovated as Reata Travel Stop. Subsequently, Harry and Lloyd took an unknown boy called ‘Mental,’ and the incident was recorded at 23506 County Road 5 in Weldona, part of Morgan County’s Colorado County.”Dumb And Dumber.”
