‘Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Sustainable War’ or ‘Koukaku Kidoutai: SAC_2045 – Jizoku Kanou Sensou’ is an integrated movie produced from the first season of ‘Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045.’ As the title suggests, the movie is part of the Stand Alone Complex universe, which includes the TV anime ‘Koukaku Kidoutai: Stand Alone Complex’ and ‘Koukaku Kidoutai: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG’ and the film -anime ‘Koukaku Kidoutai: Stand Alone Complex – Solid State Society.’

Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Sustainable War: Synopsis
More than a decade after the events of the ‘Solid State Society,’ Majoro and her team from the United States, served as a military force known as GHOST. They are currently under the Obsidian security company. In 2042, the four most powerful political parties in the world – the United States of America, China, the Russian Federation, and the European Union – decided to launch a war against each other to breathe life into the global economy.
They called the conflict the “Sustainable War” – fought between AI, and the killings were kept to a minimum. However, in 2044, the war triggered a Global Simultaneous Default, an economic catastrophe that wiped out all forms of financial data. The Sustainable War was the only way for the four activists to keep their economy afloat and prosperous. Although the lives of ordinary people were ruined, 1 percent continued to prosper because of military profits.
At the beginning of the movie, GHOST unveiled a mission in Palm Springs, California, which has become one of the Sustainable War battlefields. The simple task of Majoro and his team to stop certain invaders from attacking the closed-door community becomes complicated when it is revealed that one percent has provided the invaders with weapons. Following the unsuccessful end of the campaign, GHOST is approached by NSA agent John Smith, who is forcing the party to set a one-percent return on Patrick Huge. During the operation, GHOST quickly realizes that Huge is not human and is forced to kill him.
Meanwhile, in Japan, Daisuke Aramaki gives Togusa the task of finding former Public Security Section 9 colleagues in the United States. Togusa speaks to the head of Obsidian and reports back to Aramaki. Just as Smith is about to downplay Major and others to keep the secret about Huge, Aramaki intervenes.
Smith then disclosed with the suspicion that Huge was part of a dangerous group of organizations that the US government calls “posthuman” and takes them to a secret place that holds one such organization. While the GHOST is present, the posthuman tries to kill everyone and is killed by Batou. The Post Office is returning to Japan to deal with the three survivors.
Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Sustainable War Ending, Explained: What Happened At The End?
After associating her cyber mind with Huge’s, Majoro realizes that he is not human. The United States government is actively investigating organizations, but it also does not know much about them. Posthuman cyberbrains have been completely transformed, which is often associated with the flu.
They gain a level of ingenuity and an unprecedented increase in mental speed even among perfect cyborgs. They seem to hate certain groups of people. It turns out that the apostles were the ones who created the Global Simultaneous Default. My grandfather was one percent who provided weapons to the invaders. Gary Harts, who became a man in the NSA’s secret zone, tried to launch a nuclear missile at the Russian federation.
In Japan, posthuman and boxer Sanji Yaguchi has targeted corrupt government officials and apparently comes after Japanese Prime Minister Chris Otomo Tate became aware of his plans with the country. At that moment, high school student Takashi Shimamura seems to be in control of others and chooses to recall his forgotten memories. About the third, Suzuka Mizukane will still be appearing in ‘Ghost in the Universe Shell.
Togusa is disclosed in Shimamura’s codecs while trying to analyze files they found in the boy’s home. It creates a connection between the two. Files later become a program designed to retrieve long-forgotten memories. Togusa and others realize that Shimamura created the Think Pol, a program he used to control the online brains of his classmates, and killed a teacher who sexually assaulted Shimamura’s friend Kanami, and later killed himself. He named the program “Thought Police,” which he found in George Orwell’s favorite book, ‘1984’ by George Orwell.
Following the memories of Shimamura’s discovery, Togusa discovers that the boy has received a letter from a soldier flying in the air. His cousin, Yuzu, later met with three government officials to try to bury the body. The air force arrived and killed all three men, but Yuzu was killed during the shootout. Shimamura then joined the air force.
As Togusa sees this, his cyberbrain and that of Shimamura appear to break the time barrier. Shimamura contacts Togusa and asks him to join him as he checks the past. Towards the end of the film, Togusa probably talks to Batou about Shimamura’s memories.
As mentioned above, Sanji Yaguchi has targeted corrupt government officials. He also killed Tate’s father-in-law because he was involved in bribery and exploitation of refugees as a manager of a company that won various contracts in a prominent rebuilding project in Tokyo. However, despite having the opportunity to do so, Yaguchi does not attack the prime minister. He was later kidnapped by the Major and handed over to the NSA.
There has been a lot of speculation about Tate’s intentions since he took over. Born in the United States, most Japanese are afraid that Tate is an American doll. Although Smith tries to force Tate to be just that, the latter reaffirms his commitment to restoring Japan to its former glory.
This is probably why Yaguchi keeps Tate. There seems to be a great conspiracy in the name of those who follow the people against the four great political powers. Posthumans obviously do not look down on all humanity, but only certain groups are corrupt and power-hungry.
